“I’ve heard about the shitty things she’s done.” After all, Maia was also in the entertainment business.

Meanwhile, in Room 508, Cedric took out his phone from the luggage delivered by the rescue team

and made a call.

It was quickly answered, and Baz’s apprehensive voice came through..

“I’m so sorry, sir! As soon as your mom and Ms. Zera heard about what happened to you, they left

before I could stop them. Anyway, I’ll be arriving at Eldertown tonight.”

Cedric said, “Have Zera blacklisted.”

all there.

She went into the apartment and gave Buck a call.

Soon, Buck’s anxious voice came through, “Finally! Do you know how worried I’ve been? I read online

that you showed up in Eldertown, but I didn’t know how you were because you didn’t answer my calls.”

Maia chuckled. “I’m fine. I couldn’t call you as I didn’t have my phone with me.”

“Are you hurt?” Buck asked.

“Just a minor injury. Nothing serious.”

He let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good.”

“How are things in Starlight?”

“Nigel, your brother, and your aunt called me several times and even came to the office to ask about

you.“

Buck went on. “A few shareholders also asked if I had contacted you and wanted to know why you

went to Eldertown. I told them it wasn’t work–related, so I wasn’t sure. As for the company, everything

has been running smoothly. There’s nothing to worry about.”



Maia was puzzled about Hope’s intentions, but work was now her priority.

After she hung up, Maia texted Nigel, Errol, and Tess to tell them she was safe and sound.



She then took out her laptop but couldn’t turn it on–it must have been damaged during the flood. Just

as she was about to ask Jordan if she could use his computer, she turned and saw Aiken grinning at

her.

“Do you need a computer? Here you go,” he said, shoving a laptop into her hands.

Seeing his mischievous smile, Maia was puzzled. What was he up

to?

“You’d better get to work.” Aiken then gently pushed her toward the guest room. “If you need anything,

just let me know, okay?”

Maia blinked in confusion. What was that all about?
