reasonable that she couldn’t make a retort.

Seeing this, a nurse nearby quickly pushed the wheelchair toward the ward.
When they were there, the doctor promptly examined Cedric’s wound, which was now a bloody mess
again.
Maia clenched her fists slightly, finding it hard to believe that Cedric could endure the pain. until now.
Cedric cooperated with the doctor while fixing a gentle gaze on her as she was present.
Trying to ignore it, Maia asked the doctor, “How’s his condition?”
“He must not disturb the wound ever again. If not, it might get dire!” It was the first time the doctor met
anyone with so little regard for their life.
“Okay, thank you, guys.” After Maia thanked them, the medical staff left the ward.
As the room smelled of blood, Maia went to open the window a little and kept her distance from him.
Seeing her so far away, Cedric grew upset and thought of ways to get her to come closer.

Knowing he could not disturb his wound, Maia poured him a glass of water and fed him a few. sips.
“It hurts,” he said, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Maia was taken aback. What the hell was he doing? Taking advantage of her?
“Get your hands off me, Cedric! What you need now is a painkiller!”
“You’re my painkiller.” He refused to let go.
“I’m not your medication, Cedric!”
He smiled. “You’re my honey.”
What an asshole! Maia tried to pry his arms off her, but he only hugged her tighter.
He said, “I might disturb my wound if I exert so much strength.”

Someone knocked on the door.
“Your meal is ready, sir.” The nurse saw what was happening and quickly lowered her head.
“Leave it there,” Cedric said without letting go of Maia.
The nurse promptly placed the meal tray on the nearby table and left. As the door closed, however, it
was thrown open again with a bang.
“Are you okay, Cedric? I heard you were injured!” Zera stormed over to the bed and was stunned to
see Maia. “What the hell are you doing here?”
Zera seized Maia’s arm and yanked her away.
“Can’t you leave him alone,
leave him alone, you shameless whore?”
“Let her go, Zera!” Cedric said it icily.
Infuriated, Zera said, “I have to teach her a lesson, Cedric!”
“Fuck you, bitch!” Maia broke free and slapped her hard across her face.
Stunned, Zera palmed her face and glared at Maia. “You hit me! You fucking hit me!”
She raised her hand, but Maia grabbed her arm and slapped Zera again.
“Next time, watch your mouth.”
Furious, Zera threw herself over at Maia. “I’m going to fucking kill you!”
“Oh, yeah?” Maia grabbed Zera’s hair and pushed her toward the sofa. “Do you think I’m the

Like a madwoman, Zera scrambled up and threw herself at Mala again. This time, however, Aiken burst
through the door and seized Zera.

Zera looked at Cedric and burst out laughing. “See? She has so many boyfriends. First, the lawyer, and
now the movie star. She only seduced you to get back at you, okay? She’s al goddamn slut, and I’m
the one you should care about!”

Ignoring his pain, Cedric got out of bed and stepped toward Zera menacingly. Even Aiken felt. daunted.
