The driver knew how terrifying Cedric could be, so he immediately apologized, “I’m sorry, Mr. Cedric. The car in front stopped

intimidating presences, bear witnessed to that romantic gesture, and sit through Cedric’s sudden cold disposition.
By the time they got to the island resort, Hope had immediately tweeted before she had gotten the chance to admire the beautiful
scenery. She uploaded a selfie along with a caption, ‘I had a hard time!‘

“I know what happened to Hope! Have you all seen the photos taken by the paparazzi? Ms. Maia dragged Hope into the car with
her and Mr. Cedric. This means that Hope had to be sandwiched between Ms. Maia and Mr. Cedric! Poor thing!”
“I’ve seen those photos too!”
“So, does this mean Ms. Maia is using Hope to help her keep her distance with Mr. Cedric? Hope was used as a barrier!”
The internet was full of news about the resort and Maia. Maia was flabbergasted at the sudden influx of interest in her. She knew
it was all Cedric’s fault.
She glared at him coldly and took a step away. Cedric could feel her anger, so he turned to her and asked, “Honey, what did I do
this time?”
Maia just gritted her teeth and remained silent. Cedric continued to look at her lovingly. Those around them who noticed the
scene could not help but stare at them with envy.
Shortly after, the resort’s management team came to welcome them. They first approached Cedric and greeted him respectfully
before the manager turned to address everyone.
“Honorable guests, welcome to the resort. I’m Bill, the manager of this resort. We will be checking everyone in shortly, so please
feel free to approach us for help at any time.”
“Since we’re your guests, could we choose our own rooms?” Maia turned to Bill and asked.
Bill was taken by surprise. He glanced at Cedric before nodding. “Of course, Ms. Maia.”

“Ms. Maia, you’re one of our special guests, so we actually prepared a private room for you. It’s on the 12th floor, equipped with

Maia could tell that Cedric was the one who had requested the room. She did not want to be taken advantage of, so the only way
to avoid it was to stay with Hope.
“There’s no need for that. I don’t like the ocean view. Please just put Hope and I in the same room,” Maia insisted.
Cedric smiled at Maia’s absurd lies. She was getting more and more interesting by the day.
The manager was conflicted. Cedric looked at him and instructed, “Do it for her.”
After getting Cedric’s approval, Bill agreed without any hesitation. Seconds later, Cedric continued, “Make sure you fulfill all her
requests.”
“Yes, of course.” Bill replied. He had personally taken care of Maia’s check–in procedures. Even though she had refused the
room with a view of the ocean, Bill had made sure that she was checked into another ocean view suite on the 10th floor.

Maia nodded and thanked him before linking arms with Hope and walking toward the elevators. She was desperate for some
privacy.
Cedric smiled at Maia’s retreating back. His good mood was not at all affected by her behavior.
When Bill handed Cedric his key for his room on the 12th floor, Cedric immediately instructed him to change it to a room close to
Maia’s.
“Of course. I’ll get that done right away.” Bill instantly got to work without asking any questions. By the time he was done, Bill’s
forehead was covered in sweat. He smiled at Cedric’s back, until he got into the elevator and left.
Bill could finally catch his breath as Cedric was gone. Baz could not help but laughed at his behavior. “Was that really that
stressful?”
“I’m not like you Baz! You’re Mr. Cedric’s assistant! Mr. Cedric’s presence is just too intimidating. I couldn’t even catch my breath
with him around! I was just too paranoid that I’d make a mistake and piss him off. Thank goodness it’s all over now.”
“Nonsense! You’re the manager of such a huge resort. Even though Mr. Cedric is our boss, you should act like how you normally
do!”
Bill just shook his head. “I’m not kidding. The moment I see him, fear is all that’s left in my mind!”
