Chapter 171 Give Me Three Minutes
+15 BONUS
Maia looked at Oswald with a mixture of fear and anxiety as she did not know how to break it
to him. Should she tell him that something was wrong with the food?
Suddenly, someone shouted, “Mr. Oswald! Mr. Oswald!”
“What’s wrong?”
“My wife must have eaten something bda. I need to take her to the hospital!”
“Sure, be careful on your way there.”
Right after Oswald send him away, another housekeeper came running to him.
“Mr. Oswald, my sister is throwing up too!”
“Mr. Oswald, the other housekeepers are sick too!”
Oswald looked around in shock, “What’s going on? Why is everyone throwing up?”
“We’re not sure. We all had the same thing for dinner, but why are we fine?” One of the housekeepers explained with confusion
on her face.

“Me too. I feel fine.” Oswald shook his head. Suddenly, it dawned on him that something was wrong. He looked at Maia who was
standing in the kitchen. “Ms. Maia, could it be that...?”
Maia knew what Oswald was about to say when she interrupted him, “I think we should send those who are sick to the hospital
right away!”
Oswald nodded in agreement as Maia continued to ask about Cedric. “Where did Cedric go?”
“Mr. Cedric went to Prismara Bay.”
Maia was surprised at his whereabouts. What was he doing there so late at night?
“Let’s send everyone to the hospital first. You don’t have to worry about the cost, I’ll take care of it.” Nothing mattered more to
Maia than their well–being.

“Alright, I’ll get it done.” Oswald replied as he instructed the remaining housekeepers to help those who were sick and bring them
to the hospital.
Almost half of the residence’s housekeepers were gone in a flash. The huge villa felt unusually quiet.
Maia stood at the same spot in the kitchen staring at the pot of stew. She could not help but shiver in fear as she thought about
how Rita had tried to poison her.
However, she was alsó confused about Rita’s method. Why would she choose to poison their food? Cedric had also eaten the
same meal. Did she intend to poison him as well?

What was going on in this family? How could Rita possibly lay her hands on her own son?
Everything was so strange. The more she thought about it, the more she felt that something was not right.
Without further hesitation, Maia took out her cell phone and called Cedric. She felt that he had the right to know that most of his
housekeepers were poisoned.
She dialed his number and waited, but no one answered. The moment she hung up, her cell phone vibrated. She answered it as
she knew that it was Cedric..

“Cedric?” The other end of the line kept breaking up. She could not hear him clearly.
“Hello, can you hear me?” Maia tried a few more times, to no avail. After a few seconds, the line went dead.
When Maia tried to call back, she noticed that she had no cell reception.
At that moment, a bright strike of lightning flashed, followed by loud thunder. The winds were howling outside and Maia could
hear the twigs of trees snapping. It started to pour.
Maia looked outside through the window and noticed that there was blood on the floor. However, it was gone in an instant
because of the rain.
She was sure of what she had seen. It was a puddle of blood!
Another lightning strike revealed a shadowy figure that caught her attention. She did not know who it was, but she knew what
she saw when the lights flashed outside. It was blood.
Maia quickly and stealthily moved to the corridor on the first floor as she was afraid that she would attract the shadowy figure’s

attention.
Maia knew the lay of the villa very well. She had spent countless sleepless nights waiting for Cedric. No one knew the place
better than she did.
She decided to turn off the lights. As the room fell into darkness, she moved around swiftly using the light from the periodic
flashes of lightning. She had to get to the end of the hallway, past the glass corridors, and move toward the housekeepers‘ living
quarters.
She was sure that someone would be there! She needed to leave the main house as swiftly as possible and seek help.

The house was soundproof. Even if she tried to make a scene, no one would be able to hear her. Moreover, there was a
thunderstorm outside ending the noise.
Just then, Maia received a text on her cell phone. It was from Cedric,
‘Give me 3 minutes.‘
Reading the message gave her comfort, as she knew that he would be back in time to save her.

At that moment, the entrance of the main house flew open as the wind and rain blew into the hall. Maia could not make out who
the man was, but she was able to see that blood mixed with rainwater was dripping onto the floor.
She immediately took a turn into a room along the hallway to hide from the man. She left the door slightly ajar as she spied on
him entering the kitchen to look for her.
Maia was shocked at how well he knew the layout of the house. Furthermore, he seemed to know where she would be as he had
entered the kitchen and not the bedroom first.
As Maia saw him hurried along the hallway, she knew that she would not be able to get to the end of it and into the
housekeepers‘ living quarters.
She decided to change her course and closed the door gently. She did not waste any more time as she knew that he was looking
for her. She needed to hide for 3 minutes!
Maia was currently in the game room on the first floor. There were billiard tables and bowling alleys around her. She moved
toward the window and decided to escape from it.
Maia was thinking. She knew that the moment she opened the window, the perpetrator would know that she had escaped from it.
She would be an open target out in the grounds. However, she had no other choice.
Maia bit her lower lip nervously as she waited. The moment another roar of thunder sounded, she opened the window with all
her might!
