Cedric smiled at Maia’s mischief. He pinched her nose softly and said lovingly, “You’re so adorable.”
Did he really just call her adorable after she treated him that way?
Oswald was carrying the pot of tomato soup to the living room when Baz suddenly ran into him. The pot fell, causing a loud
crash, and the entirety of its contents spilled on the floor! “Baz!” Oswald was furious, “Watch where you’re going! Why are you in
such a hurry? Look what you’ve done. All that soup has gone to waste!”
“I’m sorry, Oswald!” Baz said, pathetically. “I have something urgent to tell Mr. Cedric. I was in such a hurry I didn’t see you. Are
you hurt?”
“I’m fine. It’s such a shame about the soup, though! Sigh... Ms. Maia even said she’ll feed Mr. Cedric! You should learn to read
the room. You’ve gone and ruined this romantic moment!”
Baz was a little embarrassed, but he did not have a choice. Did Oswald think he would dare to topple the entire pot of tomato
soup if his master had not given him the order?
It was so hard on him because he had to resort to trickery and play dumb at the same time!
“I’m sorry, Oswald. I–I’ll make it up to you and buy the ingredients for you to make it again. tomorrow.” Baz apologized with
utmost sincerity.
Oswald had no choice but to let it go.
“Fine. Watch where you’re going next time. What would you have done if Mr. Cedric and Ms. Maia had gotten hurt due to your
clumsiness?”
“Don’t worry, Oswald. It won’t happen again!” Baz said immediately.
Maia saw what happened. She turned to look at Cedric. He must have instructed Baz to do it.
не
“Seems like you don’t want me to feed you after all. Perhaps you’ll think twice before you act so shamelessly next time.” Maia
took her phone and was about to head upstairs when Cedric grabbed her arm.
She stumbled backward and fell onto the couch. Cedric was on her before she could react.

The servants around them lowered their heads and left quickly. Even Oswald and Baz took off. They were the only people in the
living room.
“You broke the rules, Cedric!” Maia gritted her teeth, glared at him, and tried to hold him off.
He chuckled, “The rules are only in effect if we sign the contract. I have yet to see a printed document.”

Maia was pissed off. She had not counted on him exploiting this loophole..
Oswald had served them the tomato soup the moment they stepped foot in Prismara Hill. She hadn’t had the time to print the
agreement yet!
“Shameless jerk!”
He grinned wickedly and lifted her chin. He was about to kiss her, but Maia was quick to react. She covered her mouth with her
hands.
His smile grew wider at the challenge she presented to him. He kissed her forehead instead.
Maia let out a sigh of relief when she saw him rising from the couch. Then, he kissed her on her lips the second she lowered her
hands!
“Cedric...” She wanted to scream at him, but his kiss overwhelmed her.

It was so passionate and wild, as if he was trying to take her breath away. She felt tingles running all over her body as the
rational part of her mind was chipped away ever so slightly...
Maia could feel her body going limp. She tried to push him away but he grabbed her arms and placed them on top of her head.
She did not want that! Her eyes began to sting and tears soon formed. A teardrop fell onto

He stopped what he was doing and held her tight.
“I’m sorry. Please stop crying.”
Maia shivered slightly. She was not sure if it was due to fear or anguish. It was all too
complicated.

“I won’t do it again. I swear.
He had crossed the line and lost control of himself. He could never get a hold of himself when it came to her! He tried to comfort
her by tightening his arms around her and showering her

She was not the young lady she used to be. She could no longer be put at ease with mere words
and smiles.

Maia saw the wound on his shoulder and did not have the heart to go through with it.
“I’ll print the agreement. I hope you’ll sign it and adhere to the rules.”
She was about to walk upstairs when she heard a familiar voice at the door.
“It’s me, Cedric. I heard that you were discharged from the hospital. I came
o pay you a visit.”

It was Rita.
“You’re here, Maia.” Rita walked toward her and held out her hand. She was not mean and nasty like she used to be. On the
contrary, she was extraordinarily welcoming. Maia found her demeanor unsettling.
Maia looked at Rita and pulled her hands back uneasily, “Greetings, mother.” She avoided her gaze and took a few steps back.
Rita, too, was a little shocked. She did not think Maia would ever call her that.
“W–What did you call me?” She needed to make sure she had heard it right.
Maia said lovingly, “Mother.”
Rita turned to look at Cedric and asked, “W–What’s come over her, Cedric? Why would she call me that? T–This is such a
pleasant surprise!”
Rita was crying tears of joy. Maia couldn’t believe what she was seeing. It was an Oscar–worthy performance.
Maia replied before Cedric could say anything, “I lost my memories. The last memories I have are from two years ago. I don’t
quite remember what happened since then.
“Can I still call you ‘mother?‘ They told me that I’m no longer married to Cedric. He’s supposed to be my ex–husband now.”

If Rita was going to put on an act, Maia would do the same. May the best actress win!
