Chapter 292 Plot

“Ah!” Sierra screamed as the person yanked her hair and slammed her to the ground, leaving her

feeling dizzy.

“Who are you? Why are you coming after me?” Sierra covered her head, tears streaming down her

face as she questioned them with a hint of defiance.

The man chuckled. It was too dark for Sierra to see their faces clearly.

“You don’t need to know who we are. I’ll take you to make some money. What are you afraid of?”

“Who cares about your measly money?” Although Sierra was crying, she still retorted angrily. She had

so much money that she couldn’t even finish spending them. She had no interest in their paltry sum.

“Hah, how arrogant. It seems like you have a lot of money on you. How about lending us some?” the

man said with a smirk.

Sierra took a deep breath, and her voice trembled with nervousness. “How much do you want?

“How much do you have?”

“If I give you money, will you let me go?”

The man burst into laughter. “That depends on whether your money is enough to buy your life. Where’s

the money? Show it to us.”

Sierra pointed to her bag. “It’s all in there. There’s a card inside with five million dollars. With that much

money, you can let me go, right?”

Hearing the mention of five million dollars, the two men froze briefly. They exchanged a knowing

glance.

It became clear to them that this woman was indeed wealthy, and that presented a greater problem.

If they let her go, they would be in trouble. They might as well take drastic measures.

The man picked up the bag and rummaged through it. He pulled out a bank card and asked, What’s the

password?”

“One to six…”

“If you dare to deceive me, you’re as good as dead,” the man warned and retrieved a sharp dagger.

Staring at the dagger, Sierra nervously gulped. She no longer dared to be arrogant. “No, no,

it’s true. I’m not lying. You can check it yourself. Please let me go, I beg you!” The man laughed. “Let

you go? So you can go and report us to the police?”

Sierra shook her head repeatedly. “I won’t report you, I promise!”

However, the man didn’t believe her. He grabbed her hair and sneered, “In that case, we can’t let you

go, my beauty. Just consider yourself unlucky. We’ll take this card.”

Sierra’s pupils contracted as she looked at the man in disbelief.

Finally, she could see the man’s face. He had a scar on his face that looked menacing and terrifying.

Sierra couldn’t believe she was about to die, not to mention in Hardington. She felt an overwhelming

sense of despair and desperation. She hoped someone could come and save her

now.

As the man brandished his knife, the light from the nearby street lamp reflected off its blade, shining

brilliantly. “Farewell, little beauty. Don’t come looking for us once you’re a ghost.”

Panic washed over Sierra, her heart racing in her chest. She closed her eyes and struggled for one last

attempt.

“Lewis, save me!”

That was the only thing she could pray for now.

“Lewis…”

As she called out his name, she suddenly heard a thud and a muffled groan from the men. When she

slowly opened her eyes, she saw the two attackers lying on the ground.

Standing before her was a tall figure with his back turned towards her. Despite that, she recognized him

immediately.

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she sobbed. “Lewis.”

Yet the man didn’t turn around.

The two men on the ground slowly got up. Gripping their knives tightly, they cautiously eyed Lewis.

“Who are you?”

“I should be the one asking you that. Who sent you?” Lewis’ voice was cold and firm.

Upon hearing Lewis’ words, the two men were shocked. They stared at him in astonishment. However,

they still bit the bullet and defended themselves. “No one sent us. We just wanted to make some

money. Stop the nonsense. Hand over the money, and you two can leave. If you don’t have the money,

you’ll die!”

Lewis sneered, “No one? No one sent you? Then why did you target her as soon as she got off the

plane?”

The two men’s faces fell.

Lewis continued, “Stop hiding. Come out.”

After he spoke, the alley remained empty and silent.

“What are you babbling about, kid?”

Lewis calmly looked at them. “Didn’t you do this to lure me here? If you don’t come out now, you’ll miss

this chance, and there won’t be another.”

As his words fell, footsteps and applause came from behind him.

Startled, Sierra turned her head to look.

Indeed, several people emerged, not just one. The dim light in the alley made it hard to see their faces.

“Chairman Alvarez, you are surely smart.” The group leader approached and stood before Sierra, but

he didn’t look at her. Instead, he focused his gaze on Lewis across from him.

“How did you know I would be here?”

Lewis showed no surprise. Expressionless, he replied, “Because if I were the one planning to kill

someone like me, I would probably want to keep a close eye on him too.”

Kiran chuckled and pushed up the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose. “It seems like you knew I would

come.”

“Is there a better opportunity than now?”

Kiran paused briefly, then calmly replied, “Indeed, you traveling alone to Hardington is the best

opportunity.”

While talking, Kiran took off his glasses and carefully cleaned them with a cloth.

“Speaking of which, I’m sure you didn’t come alone, did you?”

Lewis looked at him indifferently. “What do you think?”

The more composed Lewis appeared, the more hesitant Kiran became. He glanced at Sierra on the

ground and put his glasses back on.

“I understand now.” Kiran truly understood why Lewis had come.

Lewis asked, “President Kiran, you came all the way here. What can I do for you?”

“I wouldn’t dare to ask for your help. I’m only here to enjoy the weather and scenery in Hardington. I

just wanted to take a break and relax during my vacation,” Kiran replied. He raised his hand slightly,

and the people behind him suddenly disappeared into the darkness.

It was as if they had never appeared.

Lewis suddenly laughed. “I thought you would have some tricks up your sleeves.”

Kiran answered, “I’m just here for a trip. Chairman Alvarez, if you don’t mind, we can travel together.”

“You brought so many people with you. Do you need me to accompany you?”

“Isn’t it more lively with more people?”

Lewis replied, “I prefer enjoying my time with my close ones. President Kiran, it’s quite late. Please be

safe.”

Kiran nodded slightly. “Thank you for the reminder, Chairman Alvarez.”

Glancing at Sierra on the ground, Lewis said, “Get up and let’s go.”

Still in a daze, Sierra had no idea what had happened and could only obey Lewis’ words. She picked

up her belongings and followed behind him.

As she walked, she turned her head back. Kiran was still standing there from a distance. It wasn’t until

they were far away that darkness swallowed his figure.

Moments later, someone approached Kiran in the dark and whispered, “Boss, luckily, we didn’t take

action. Lewis had brought his men with him, and they were lying in ambush outside.”

“Yes,” Kiran sighed thoughtfully.

Regardless of whether they could kill Lewis, it would be hard to walk out of this place even if they

succeeded.

Kiran could be charged with assaulting him if they couldn’t kill him.

At that moment, he couldn’t distinguish who was plotting against whom.

After Lewis came out, Gerald and his men surrounded them.

“Chairman Alvarez, I’m relieved that you’re okay. I was so nervous just now. Who was that person?

How did he …”

Lewis glanced at him and said, “President Harris, could you please take Miss Woods back to the

hotel?”

Gerald glanced at Sierra, marveling at what a playboy Lewis was.

“Um… sure.”

“Lewis, I’ll go with you!”

Ignoring Lewis’ opinion, Sierra opened the car door and got in. She had just escaped danger

and didn’t want to walk outside alone.
