Chapter 205 Every Malicious Glance He Cast

Josephine understood the meaning behind every word Lewis said because he had trained her in

various ways over the course of three years. Despite his teachings, he couldn’t help but perceive her

as shameless. A mere glance exchanged with other men was all it took for him to think she was

seducing them.

Josephine reached her breaking point, no longer willing to tolerate the situation. She tried to get up but

fell on her knees because he was still grabbing her collar. She heard him. say, “I’ll

allow it.”

Josephine pressed her lips tightly together and averted her gaze. She did not want to have any further

interactions with an unreasonable man like him. Besides, they already had a divorce.

Suddenly, the office door swung open, startling Josephine to the point that she quickly hid under the

desk again. The person who came in was Sierra. She was holding her purse as she swaggered toward

Lewis in her heels. She walked to Lewis’ side with a shy smile, endearingly calling out, “Lewis.”

The scent of Sierra’s perfume wafted in before her arrival. Underneath the table, Josephine grappled to

conceal herself, desperately attempting to squeeze into the corner. Memories resurfaced of Lewis

embarrassing her in front of Sierra before their divorce. Now that they were no longer together,

Josephine realized there were even fewer reasons for him to support her. She had no desire to

humiliate herself further.

Sierra wrapped her arms around Lewis’ neck and settled on his lap. Lewis did not push her away. He

raised his brow and adeptly held her waist as he asked, “What brings you here?”

Sierra chuckled and said, “I’m picking you up from work. You’ll be coming over to my place today,

right?”

“Yes.”

“Then I’ll wait for you to finish work. Then we can go for a movie tonight. I’ve bought the tickets.” Sierra

pulled out two movie tickets from her purse and showed them to him.

Lewis took a glance at the tickets and chuckled. “Okay, you can wait at the side. I’ll finish

my work quickly.”

Josephine’s eyelid twitched upon hearing his words. She pondered if he had done it on purpose.

He had specifically told Sierra to wait beside him. Josephine’s intuition proved accurate; he had indeed

done it deliberately to ensure she couldn’t leave. This meant she would be confined under the table

until evening.

“Okay.” Sierra stayed in that position, cuddling him for about two minutes before she took her purse

and went to the couch.

Josephine closed her eyes. She hugged her knees and curled up in the corner. Lewis pretended that

she was not there and did his work calmly. Josephine stared at his legs. After some time,

she started to feel warm.

Although the room was air-conditioned, she still felt warm because she wore thick layers and was stuck

in a corner under the table. She was sweating all over. She lifted her sleeve and wiped the sweat on

her face. Josephine’s breath quickened. She could not take it any longer, so she reached out to tug at

Lewis’ pants. However, Lewis continued to ignore her.

Josephine bit her lip and climbed out from under the desk. She looked up at him and gestured,

“Let me leave.”

Lewis lowered his head to look at her. He touched her cheek with one hand as if petting a puppy. He

then tilted his head and gave her a look, signaling that she could leave anytime she

wanted.

Josephine bit her lip as she wondered if there was a way she could go without being spotted by Sierra.

What would Sierra think If she found out that Josephine was under his desk all this time? She would

undoubtedly take revenge on her, and this time no one would help her.

Lewis gripped her collar once again, yanking her forward. He offered her another option. Josephine

detested the fact that she understood the intention conveyed through his gaze. However, she could

also play dumb or feign ignorance, pretending not to comprehend him and retreating back under the

desk. After all, it would only be for one afternoon…

“Sierra,” Lewis called.

Sierra, who was doing her makeup, looked at him and asked, “What’s the matter? Are you done with

your work?”

“Under the desk, there’s… ” Before he could finish his sentence, Josephine hugged his legs and

begged him not to make Sierra hate her more.

Sierra already stood up. She asked, “What’s under the desk?”

Lewis said calmly, “It’s nothing. A rat just passed by.”

Sierra paused. She covered her mouth and shrieked, “Why would there be a rat?”

“It’s gone. Don’t worry about it. You can continue to do your makeup.”

Sierra made a sound and sat on the couch again. She wiped off the makeup on her eye and did it all

over. Josephine closed her eyes, thinking it was a mistake coming here. After Sierra finished her

makeup, she became impatient and asked, “Are you done with your

work?”

“It’s still early.” Lewis picked up a folder and flipped it open.

Sierra pouted and stood up. She said, “Nevermind. I’ll head down to the cafeteria to wait for you. Give

me a call when you’re done.”

Lewis looked up at her and nodded lightly. Sierra took a few steps and scanned the office, asking, “Is

there really a rat?”

Lewis answered, “There’s none now.”

Sierra gave it some thought and left his office. As soon as the door closed, Josephine felt a wave of

relief wash over her. However, a slender arm grabbed her collar and yanked her up before she could

fully register that feeling. Lewis threw her on the desk, and she fell forward onto the table. She

instinctively grabbed the documents in front of her. She turned to look at Lewis as she could not move

her arms. She forced the words out of her mouth, saying, “We, we, we’re div… ”

“Shut up.” Lewis circled his arm around her and covered her mouth.

Josephine squeezed the folders. She could not escape, so she closed her eyes helplessly.

Lewis only released her after a long time.

Josephine weakly slid down to the floor, leaning against the desk for support. She lifted her head

slightly, only to find that Lewis had already straightened his clothes, returning to his desireless and

saintly appearance. It was as if he had not gone into a rampage just moments

ago.

Lewis smoothed out his clothes and left without even looking at her. Walking to the door, he said, “Tidy

up the desk.”

Josephine’s tensed-up body relaxed once she heard the sound of the door closing. She held her

hurting lower abdomen and stood up shakily.

The table was a mess, with documents scattered haphazardly everywhere. She placed her hands on

the sides of the desk to steady herself, inadvertently revealing the bandage wrapped around her wrist.

Blood seeped through the bandage, staining the gauze once more.

Josephine rested for a while before tidying up the desk. She also cleaned the floor and opened. the

window for ventilation. Once she had restored the room to its previous state, she dragged her

weakened body and left his office. 2

She had a headache because she was drunk yesterday, and now that she had intercourse, her lower

abdomen hurt too. She walked shakily out of the office, with her hand against the wall to steady herself,

closing her eyes as she took in deep breaths, overwhelmed by dizziness.

A co-worker passed by and saw her in pain. She tapped on her shoulder and asked, “Miss, are you

alright?”

Josephine raised her head slightly and noticed the concerned expression on the face of her co- worker.

She recognized her as the girl who had taken her seat. Josephine forced a smile and shook her head.

“But

you don’t look well. Do you want to leave work early to go see the doctor?”

Josephine nodded and gave her a look of gratitude.

The co-worker smiled and said, “Oh, right, my name is Yelena. I’m a new intern here. I look forward to

working with you.”
