Chapter 183 Screams could be heard from the crowd below.
"Eric!" Teresa shrieked as she crumpled to the ground in fear.
Eric looked at her without saying anything.
After a long silence, Teresa finally said, "Cdown. I promise I won't abort the baby." "Really? Are you really going to keep our baby, Teri? Are you willing to givea chance? Are you going to forgive me?" Eric eagerly asked.

The police officer hurried over to help him back to safety. But just then, the rusty railing gave way, breaking off with a crack.
Losing the support of the railing, Eric slipped off the building.
"Argh!" he howled at the top of his lungs.
Luckily for him, a police officer grabbed his arm just in time. The only thing that fell was a piece of the rusty railing.
Eric looked down at it, feeling so terrified that his legs turned to jelly. He was immensely glad that it was the railing that fell instead of him. Otherwise, he would've died from the impact. Once the police officers pulled him up, Eric scrambled over to Teresa and hugged her before crying his heart out.
After all that commotion, everyone cleared off, and the patients returned to their wards.
Teresa was sitting in bed. Even though the room was warm, and she was all covered up under the blanket, she was still shivering hard. She looked even paler now. Eric poured her a cup of warm water and said, "Here, Teri. Have swarm water. It'll warm you right up." However, as soon as he brought the cup to Teresa, Tiffany pushed it away. "Get lost!" Startled, Eric said, "I know I made a mistake, Tiff, but Teri has already forgiven me." "Who said she forgave you?" Tiffany snapped. She was pale with fury.
Clearly, the entire fiasco had merely been a stunt on Eric's part. He was confident that Teresa would be too soft- hearted to watch him die, so he put on a show for her. Tiffany was frustrated on Teresa's behalf. She shielded Teresa protectively, refusing to let Eric near her.
Eric couldn't do anything about it. After a while, he sheepishly shuffled out of the room.

Just as Eric took out a lighter to light a cigarette for himself, Vincent reminded him, "This is a hospital." Eric froze in confusion.
Frowning, Vincent added, "You're not allowed to smoke in here." "Oh..." Eric stuffed the cigarette back into the box. "I forgot about that." Vincent eyed him coolly and asked, "Are you the one responsible for all those bruises on Teresa's face?" Once again, Eric was startled. However, he didn't answer the question outright. Instead, he immediately scrounged up an excuse for his actions. "It's notcompletely my fault, you know. It's normal for married couples to have a spat or two..."
Sneering, Vincent questioned, "Is it still normal when your wife needs to be hospitalized? Eric could tell that Vincent thought poorly of him.
"I admit I was a little harsh, but as a fellow man, Mr. Lewis, I'm sure you can understand my perspective. derstand Teresa sits at hall day doing nothing but housework, while I'm the sole breadwinner of the family. "I have to pay for all the expenses, and I even have to pay for our housing loan. I'm under a lot of pressure," Eric declared.
With an emotionless expression, Vincent silently listened to Eric's pathetic attempt at making himself seem more sympathetic.
But once Eric was done, Vincent
exposed Eric's nonsense by saying, "I recall that Teresa used to run a stall that brought in a tidy profit each year Why did she suddenly give up on her business?"
