Chapter 821 What’s Going on Today
Adriel made numerous phone calls in a succession, furrowing his brows harder and deeper.
He appeared to have faced some difficulties.
After ten minutes, Rhett became agitated and asked, "Mr. Adriel, is this minor matter not settled yet?"
Adriel's face grew pale, and he wiped his brow reflexively, only to discover that he was sweating excessively.
"I'm not sure what happened, Mr. Rhett, but there was an accident; please wait a moment; it will be resolved soon."
He contacted another number, took out a tablet computer from his briefcase, accessed the inbox, and transmitted
a file to an address while speaking.
All of the Pearce family members present were taken aback by Adriel's unusual actions.
They were filled with apprehension. What happened to Adriel, Ruritania's well-known lawyer?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtAdriel made numerous more phone calls in the following minutes, and towards the end, there was no color on his
face.
"Adriel, what kind of accident occurred? You're a lawyer, and you even had difficulty communicating with the
court?"
Rhett couldn't keep a straight face as he felt the Pearce family's inquiring stares.
"Mr. Rhett... I don't know why the person in charge at the court said they wouldn't accept any lawsuits related to
Lola," Adriel muttered, wiping the cold sweat from his brow once more.
"What?"
Not only Rhett, but the entire Pearce family was taken aback.
The court will not hear any Lola-related lawsuits.
What exactly is going on?
Is it possible that the prominent Southville Entertainment Agency wishes to sue Lola but has no way to do so?
"Mr. Rhett, right after you instructed me, I immediately called the court in Ruritania, but as soon as they heard that
our Southville Entertainment Agency wanted to sue Lola, they immediately refused," Adriel said.
"I inquired as to the reason, but they refused to answer."
"I'm not giving up; I called the highest court in Nirth Province directly, and they had the same attitude as the court
in Ruritania."
"I've been in this business for six years, and I've never seen anything like this before; it's unheard of."
Adriel's cold sweat had already seeped into his shirt and down his neck by the finish.
In reality, he felt ominous, but he didn't dare to speculate further.
The court will not hear any Lola-related lawsuits. Why?
The most plausible reason is that Lola has a history that makes the court nervous.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmLola is only a tiny kid of about four years old, and her ancestors are Skylar, correct?
With this inference, how frightening must Skylar's past be?
Adriel's legs began to weaken with this notion, and he couldn't even look at Skylar directly.
Skylar, on the other hand, stayed calm and composed.
Rhett then realized something and turned his look to Skylar. "You must have done something tricky, Skylar."
All of the Pearce family members there, including Shirley, glanced at Skylar, their eyes wide with interest.
"Even if I say nothing and do nothing," Skylar scoffed, "they wouldn't dare to accept your case."
"I am Lola's guardian, and no one in Nirth Province has the authority to pass judgment on me."
Rhett was shocked and then burst out laughing as he heard Skylar's words. "Hah!"
"I might believe you if you say you know people in the court and have made prior arrangements."
"I didn't expect you to dare to brag like this, claiming that the court has no jurisdiction over you; who do you think
you are?"
