Chapter 5565
"I never expected the environment in this abyss to be so bizarre, too," Debra continued.
Rachelle nodded and asked, "Do you know this place?"
Debra smiled. "This place isn't far from the Hidden Hero Sect. Of course, I know this place.
I once heard from the elders that many people came down to this abyss to explore for
several hundred years, but none had ever returned."
She continued to look at the surrounding environment as she added," Nonetheless, it
doesn't look like there's any danger except for the strange elements around us."
Rachelle was not in the mood to think of those. She looked at the cave in front of her.
"Since those divine soldiers are up there, we'll fall into their hands if we fly back up. The
only way for us to explore this cave is to see if there's any exit from there.”
She took the liberty to be the first among them to enter the cave. Debra hurried and
followed.
The cave was huge and deep with many split paths. Luckily, the dark-cyan igneous rocks
on both sides of the wall glowed. It helped Debra and Rachelle to have a clear vision of the

After walking for a few minutes, they realized that there were no more dark cyan igneous
rocks on the wall anymore. The light was getting dimmed, and the air was thinner too. The
road ahead of them was pitch black.
Rachelle bit her lip and was a little upset. 'Is there no exit at the end of this cave? Is the
only way out to fly up the cliff?'
Debra, puzzled by their predicament, mumbled to herself, "That's weird. If those people
who came to explore died here, why didn't we see any bones or dead bodies lying
around?"
Just when Rachelle wanted to answer the question, they heard what sounded like sobs
from the deep end ahead of the cave.
"Waa...waa.J Waa...waa...waa..."
The sound resembled a baby crying, but it possessed strong penetrating force. The sound
was loud and clear, especially in the cave they were in.
Debra and Rachelle were shocked as they exchanged puzzled glances. Why was there a
weeping baby in the deep end of the cave? Whose child was this? Did the baby
accidentally fall from the cliff? Then again, the baby would surely die if they fell from such
a high place. How could the baby end up in the cave?
Numerous questions filled Debra and Rachelle's minds. A few seconds later, Debra reacted
first as she said, "Let's go and have a look."
Regardless of their situation, the baby's safety was the priority.
Rachelle nodded and walked side by side with Debra toward the direction of the cries. Not
long after, the same dark-cyan igneous rocks appeared on the walls once more, only much
brighter.
Nevertheless, there was a layer of fog in the air.
Though the light around them was good enough that they could somehow see their
surroundings, their vision was blocked by the fog. Therefore, they could not tell the
situation around them.
"Waa...waa..." At that moment, the crying appeared again. This time it was very near,
around several meters in front of them.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDebra quickly rushed forward upon hearing the cries, not caring about the fog before her.
Judging by their situation, she knew it was very likely to form water mist in such an
environment.
Rachelle, on the other hand, felt something was amiss. Nonetheless, she still followed
closely behind Debra.
As they entered the fog, they felt dizzy and their heads were spinning. They felt like they
were stepping on cotton candy, but their minds were clear.
Right then, Debra discovered something and exclaimed, "Look, there's a kid right there!"
Looking in the direction Debra was pointing, Rachelle spotted a small body laying a few
meters away from them. It was a small boy about a year old, crying and whimpering.
"This kid has nine lives like a cat. He's lucky that we're here," said Debra as she hurried
over to check if the child was hurt.
Wait! Something was not right!
At that moment, Rachelle felt the dizziness was getting stronger. She suddenly realized
something and closed her eyes to murmur the formula Darryl taught her to activate the
divine energy in her body.
