Chapter 4982

Mahoney and the Red Shirt Crusade had no idea what Darryl's true intentions were. They

were all excited after hearing Darryl's solution.

"That was close. We almost fell for the trap." "That's right. Luckily Darryl stopped us

before it was too late."

Mahoney was ecstatic. He said to Darryl, "All thanks to you, my brother.

Otherwise, we would've made a grave mistake."

Mahoney said to his people, "Did everyone hear what Darryl said? Quickly form into a

formation and follow his instructions. Five steps forward, three steps right, move slowly."

Til kill anyone that takes the wrong step and activates the trap."

The Red Shirt Crusade quickly moved into a formation and headed toward the plaza

cautiously.

Darryl snickered quietly as he followed closely behind.

At first, everything was peaceful, and nothing happened. However, at about five hundred

meters, the steele that the first man of the Red Shirt Crusade stepped on rumbled.

Everyone stopped in their tracks, and their faces were drained of blood.

F*ck!

Mahoney's face shifted as he yelled at the first man, "Are you trying to die? What did I say

earlier? Did you f*cking step on the wrong steele?"

Mahoney wanted to run over to yell at the man, but seeing as they were surrounded by

traps, he decided to swallow his anger.

The man replied apprehensively, "I... I didn't step on the wrong steele, Hall Master. I've

been following the instructions."

He stood frozen in place nervously. He did not dare to move so as to not activate the

traps. The men behind him were terrified.

What they did not know was that the traps had already been activated.

Rumble!

Mahoney wanted to yell at him more, but suddenly, the stone steeles about five meters

away on their left and right started to flip aggressively, exposing a row of holes. Then,

rows and rows of arrows began shooting out from the holes.

Swoosh!

Arrows were shooting out from both sides. Mahoney and his men had no time to react at

all. Some of the men from the Red Shirt Crusade were shot. They cried out in pain as blood

spurted out, painting the ground red.

"Argh!" "Argh, my leg..."

The number of arrows from the trap was limited, and they stopped shooting out shortly

after. However, two of Mahoney’s men died on the spot, and seven to eight of them were

heavily injured.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief when they noticed that the trap had stopped, but they still

felt nervous. What a scary place that was; they could easily die if they were not careful.

Mahoney grimaced. He then thought of something and turned around to look at Darryl. His

eyes were filled with a myriad of emotions as he uttered, "Darryl, was there something

wrong with the instructions you gave earlier?"

Mahoney realized that his man did not make any mistakes. He only followed Darryl's

instructions, yet the trap was still activated.

Mahoney was not a fool. He realized that Darryl was probably doing that on purpose.

Kendra, who followed them from a distance, stopped her steps upon seeing the scene

before her. She felt oddly happy when she learned that Darryl only asked to work

alongside Mahoney to lead them into the trap.

It seemed like she had misunderstood him.

However, seeing as Mahoney interrogated Darryl, Kendra started to worry for Darryl.

Darryl scratched his head in embarrassment and said, "Calm down, Hall Master. The stone

steeles did say to follow those specific instructions. Let me have another look..."

Darryl then started pretending to investigate the stone steeles. Hel looked serious on the

outside, but he was actually sneering happily internally.

Haha!

Mahoney was such a fool, having blindly believed in everything Darryl had said. Since his

men were injured, he could not blame it on anyone else. He should have not worked with

Darryl in the first place.
