Chapter 4627
It was late into the night when Darryl returned, tired and irritable. He collapsed onto his
bed upon entering the room, falling asleep instantly.
Of course, Darryl had not forgotten to turn back into his Barely Immortal form.
Then, a few hours passed.
Creak!
As dawn was just beginning to crack, Darryl was still fast asleep. Then, he heard the door
push open softly. It was followed by the appearance of a charming figure sneaking into the
room.
F*ck!
Had his antics pretending to be Master Magaera been exposed? Had Empress Heidi sent
someone to get him?
At the noise, Darryl awoke instantly. However, he did not stir at once and instead squinted
to peer at who had snuck into his room.

Oh?
Darryl stopped short when he saw the scene. It was a 16 or 17 years old girl, clad in a
bright yellow dress with exquisite features, and she radiated an air of youthfulness without
losing any class.
'Who’s that? And what's she doing in my room at this hour?'
Amidst his shock, Darryl could not help but begin mumbling to himself. The curious sight
and circumstances she had appeared in did not seem like Empress Heidi had sent her
there.
Did Prince Aurin send a servant to spy on him? From the looks of her appearance, it did
not seem like it.
Darryl did not want to act rashly before he could confirm her identity. So he lay there and
pretended to be asleep.
Princess Sheila. She had been the late Emperor's favorite child, along with Princess
Dorothy.
She was fairly young, so Princess Sheila had spent most of her time staying in the palace.
That was why Darryl had never seen her.
Sheila was the Nine Heaven Emperor and Empress Heidi's child. That meant she had the
same parents as Prince Auten, and they should be reasonably close. However, they were
merely civil at best, and Sheila was closer to Aurin.
She thought that Aurin was a better man than Auten; she felt like he was more like her
brother. When she learned that Aurin had gotten a new master from the Nine Mainland, it
had piqued her curiosity. She was there to take a look. i
She was still young, so the sight of a closed door did not thwart her plan. She pushed it
open and barged right in.
Princess Sheila got closer to take a better look at Darryl. She could not help but say, "So
this is Brother Aurin's new master? He doesn't appear to be anything special. He looks like
a typical old man."
Atypical old man?
Darryl was torn between amusement and annoyance at the words. He was still in the
Barely Immortal form, and he had a head of white hair at that moment, which meant he
was a typical old man.
Just as Darryl pondered that to himself, Princess Sheila plucked at Darry's beard. She
mumbled, "Why does his beard look fake, though?"

Even though the beard was fake, Darryl still felt a sharp twinge of pain as they were
ripped off.
'F*ck me!'
Amidst his pain, Darryl found himself unable to pretend any further. He practically jumped
off his bed, glowering at Princess Sheila. "You've got some nerve pulling on my beard!
"Who sent you? Who raised you with such poor manners?'
As he lectured her, Darryl covered his face with a hand.
He had such bad luck that day. He had failed to get a night of good sleep, and he had
been pranked so early in the morning.
Princess Sheila instantly realized that she had gotten into trouble when Darryl woke up in
shock and pain. At first, she backed away in fear, though she regained her composure
quickly enough. She said with a smug expression, "Ah, so it was a real beard. I thought it
was fake."
Princess Sheila bowed lightly. "I'm sorry, I should not have done that. I didn't mean to."
’F*ck. She did not mean to?'
Darryl practically burst out laughing. He sized her up. "Who are you, and why are you in
my chambers at this hour? Tell the truth."
Darryl took in the sight of Princess Sheila and could not help but marvel to himself.
