Chapter 4623
Aurin glanced at Darryl curiously. "Why are you asking about that, Master?"
Darryl scratched his head rather awkwardly and said the first thing that came to his head.
"Oh, nothing. It just came into my head, so I thought I'd ask about it."
Darryl glanced at the sky. "It's getting late, Prince Aurin. You should get some rest. I'll
teach you some of my skills tomorrow morning!" Then, Darryl stretched out lazily on the
bed and looked like he was about to doze off.
Indeed, Darryl did not plan to rest. He would sneak into Empress Heidi's chambers to find
out the deal with the Ancient Ancestor's fairy soul.
That was extremely risky, so it was better to keep it from Aurin for the time being.
Darryl's performance was utterly believable, and Aurin did not suspect a single thing.
"Alright, Master. Rest well!"
Then, Aurin walked out of the room.
Darryl heaved a sigh of relief. He began to ponder to himself.
It had just gotten dark; immediately sneaking into the Jade Fairyland would not be a good
idea. It would be best to wait a while longer.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSo, Darryl lay down and closed his eyes to rest.
A few hours later, Darryl opened his eyes slowly. Since it was dark outside, he did not
hesitate to change into dark clothes and slipped out of the room before heading toward
Empress Heidi's chambers.
He had been to the Jade Fairyland once or twice and was familiar enough with its
surroundings. Thus, he could make his way there without being spotted by any guards.
Oh?
It was not long before he had reached Empress Heidi's chambers. The sight that greeted
him made him stop short.
It was late at night. Why was Empress Heidi not resting yet?
The lights in Empress Heidi's chambers were still on, but there was no sound.
Was she not in her room? That would be great; it would be an excellent chance for him to
sneak into the room.
Darryl slowed down before ducking into the room swiftly.
Darryl's body jerked as he gasped at the sight that greeted him.
Empress Heidi sat by the window, drinking on her own. The table before her was laden
with luxurious dishes, but they appeared untouched.
What was going on?
What was Empress Heidi doing? Why was she still wining and dining when it was already
so late? Why was she not asleep yet?
Darryl stared at Empress Heidi. Instantly, he was transfixed.
Empress Heidi was clad in a thin golden silk robe wrapped around her curves, radiating
breathtaking beauty in the hazy glow of the candlelight.
No man would be immune to that sight.
At the same time, Darryl noticed that there seemed to be something on Empress Heidi's
mind. She drank glass after glass, staring out of the window thoughtfully. Her brows were
furrowed as if she was greatly perplexed over something.
The crystal ball holding the Ancient Ancestor's fairy soul sat next to her silently.
After a while, Darryl snapped back to his senses.
Did her late-night drinking have something to do with the Ancient Ancestor's fairy soul?
It appeared that he had made the right call to go there.
Just as Darryl was pondering that, Empress Heidi stood up suddenly. She turned around

Crap, had he been spotted?
Darryl was overcome with nerves. He felt as if his heart would pound out of his chest.
He would be done for if anyone found out that he had snuck into Empress Heidi’s
chambers.
Just as Darryl was freaking out, Empress Heidi turned to face the altar a few meters away.
She mumbled to herself, "Do you know how much trouble you've left behind for me to deal
with, Your Majesty?
"Magaera and I worked so hard to make Auten the Emperor, all for Lute Belle to appear
out of nowhere with a handwritten letter from Nuwa."
Empress Heidi's face was flushed red, and her tone was laced with resentment.
Darryl heaved a sigh of relief. Empress Heidi was talking to the Nine Heaven Emperor.
'Thank the f*ck.'
He had been frightened.
His hiding spot was too close to the altar, and he could be easily spotted.
Darryl cast a look around him before ducking underneath the chair next to him.
