Chapter 4488
"Interesting."
The Nine Heaven Emperor scoffed and said, "I can't believe you're that lucky to be able to
be reborn through the Red Lotus Fayette. But you're being selfish and not thinking about
the Ancient Ancestor's safety by not telling me anything. Well, I'm not going to go easy on
you." 2
As he spoke, the Nine Heaven Emperor turned to address Lunaris General. ’ Hold him
captive in the Sky Prison. We'll decide what to do with him when we find out where the
Ancient Ancestor is." 2
"Yes, Your Majesty!"
Lunaris General strode toward him. He addressed a few soldiers and had Darryl dragged
out of the Imperial Sky Palace to the Sky Prison.
Just then, the entire Imperial Sky Palace fell silent. The looks on all the officials' faces were
ice-cold; none of them felt sorry for Darryl.
After all, Darryl was never a member of the God ly Region-he was from the Nine Mainland.
There had been great disdain among the officials when the Ancient Ancestor had made
him Nine Heavens Sage. When they saw him suffer such consequences, they all felt
impossibly vindicated.
At that moment, in the Sky Prison.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtDarryl was thrown rather unceremoniously into a cell. His chest flared with rage and
hopelessness.
Motherf*cker, that was way unfair.
He did not even know how Yvette, Queenie, and Celine were doing after he had been
caught.
Meanwhile, at the Sealed Fiend Mountain.
The Sealed Fiend Mountain was barren, and the fiend race had built a magnificent black
palace in its place.
The fiend race suffered significant losses in the last few battles against the Godly Region.
Thus, Archfiend Antigonus had declared the Sealed Fiend Mountain as their secret place to
recuperate and restore their energy.
Just then, in the black palace.
Archfiend Antigonus sat on his throne, his face the picture of ease as he held the Soul
Requiem stone in his hand.
The Ancient Ancestor's fairy spirit was gone, and all that was left was his physical form.
The Imperial Sky Palace was in chaos, too.
All he needed was to seize Darryl, get rid of him, and the fiend race would be free of its
worries.
Just then, a charming figure soared into the palace at top speed. She had a breathtaking
figure. It was Morticia.
"Honorable Archfiend!" Morticia bowed respectfully, her exquisite features laced with
remorse and fear.
"Morticia!"
A smile passed through Antigonus' face. "Back so soon? Do you have Darryl Darby with
you?"
Morticia bit her lip as she lowered her head. "I searched the entire South Cloud World, but
there was no sign of him. But I've taken control of the South Cloud Royals."
As she spoke, Morticia fell to her knees, trembling lightly.
The fiend race had always operated with strict discipline. If a task or mission were not
completed, one would be gravely punished. Yet Morticia had no choice, as she had spent
the past two days combing the South Cloud World to no avail at all.
No sign?
At the words, Archfiend Antigonus' expression darkened.
All at once, the atmosphere in the palace felt unbearably thick with tension.
"Well!"
The next second, Archfiend Antigonus took a deep breath. He flashed a smile, comforting
Morticia. "Don't be too hard on yourself for not finding Darryl Darby. You've done a good
enough job by just taking over the South Cloud Royals."
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmArchfiend Antigonus waved a hand. "Off you go, back to the Nine Mainland. You'll remain
in the South Cloud Royals and control as much of the Nine Mainland as you can in
preparation for when the fiend race takes over."
Archfiend Antigonus favored Morticia the most out of the twelve Fiend Martyrs. Despite her
not delivering what had been expected of her at that time, he did not fault her too much.
After all, there were much bigger fish to fry for the fiend race. Punishing subjects was not
exactly the most productive move at a time like that.
Whew!
Morticia was overcome with relief and emotion. She nodded hastily. "Don't worry,
Honorable Archfiend. I won’t let you down."
Morticia bowed once more before quickly leaving the palace.
"Honorable Archfiend!"
Not long after she had left, a few figures entered the hall. They were Thoth, Blaise, Ganon
and Yvette.
Thoth still looked a little pale as his fiend soul energy had not fully recovered yet.
Yvette's acupoint had been blocked, and she could not move at all. Her exquisite features
were wrought with helplessness.
Oh?
As the three Fiend Martyrs returned without Darryl, Antigonus seemed to realize
something. His expression sank at once. "Thoth, Blaise, and Ganon. Why are the three of
you back here? Where's Darryl Darby?"
