Chapter 3997
Whew...
Upon hearing what he had, Master Magaera fell silent for a while. He then nodded. "Fine, I'll believe you just this
once."
If he was being honest, Magaera was not the most trusting of Veron. But in his situation, he didn't have much of
a choice. He'd rather take the risk.
At his agreement, Veron sighed in relief. She continued, "How can I be of assistance, Honored Master?"
Veron was staring at Master Magaera, inspecting the restraints holding him down with a grim expression on her
face. These were not normal chains, but special ropes that had been forged with spiritual energy.
That was not all. The ropes gleamed with strange symbols. Veron had a suspicion the symbols held even more
impenetrable power.
At Veron's seemingly strained expression, Master Magaera could not help but laugh.
"Oh, that's simple enough!"
Magaera ordered, "All you have to do to break me out is summon all the energy in your body, and use it to strike
me over the head. That way the sky Fiend Bonds on my body will loosen."
Sky Fiend Bonds. That meant the ropes holding Master Magaera down were forged of Fiend Soul power.

Veron froze at Master Magaera's words. "Hit you on the head with full force? Will that...
work?"
The mind was the core of the body. A blow with full force— would that not end his life?
At the shock on her face, Master Magaera smiled again. "Don't you worry. Gods are a lot
more powerful compared to humans. A human's head is quite weak, but not that of a god.
This is the only way to summon my fairy soul, or my powers will be restrained by these
Sky Fiend Bonds forever.
He cast a look outside the dungeon. "We don't have much time.
You should hurry..."
Alright!
Veron nodded at his commands. Summoning all the internal energy in her body, she raised
her hand and brought it down heavily upon Master Magaera's head.
Slam!
The sound rattled out loud. Veron felt a force that pushed back against her hand, making
her stumble backwards a good few steps. Yet Master Magaera stayed steady as a
mountain, unmoving.
At the same time, the sky Fiend Bonds on his body had vanished as well.
"That's amazing!"
Veron had been worried before, but seeing the sky Fiend Bonds disintegrate now filled her
with incomparable excitement and glee.
Whew...
Master Magaera took a deep breath, getting to his feet and stretching his body out. Gone
was the hostility from before, and in its place was nothing but gratitude. "Thank you."
Just then, Mageara's expression turned solemn. He turned to Veron hurriedly. "Skylar Blanc
will be able to sense once the sky Fiend Bonds disappear. You should keep on lookout
outside while I restore my fairy soul energy."
Upon saying so, Magaera sat down cross-legged. He began to cultivate, restoring his
energy.
Veron nodded, without hesitation or second thought, she rushed to the entrance of the
dungeon to look out for any movement.
Buzz!
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmJust as she exited the dungeon, Veron felt a ripple of energy through the air ahead of her. She hurried over,
freezing at the sight.
In the night, a handsome figure could be seen making his way to the dungeon at top speed. On him were a set of
white robes and a solemn expression.
It was none other than Skylar.
Master Magaera had been right. The sky Fiend Bonds on his body had been casted by Skylar himself, and sure
enough he had sensed it as soon as they disappeared. Now he was on his way to see about them.
This was no good!
Veron grew anxious as she saw Skylar, she was about to head back into the dungeon to tell Master Magaera the
news, but Skylar had gotten to it before her and swooped in first.
Veron hid behind a tree instantly, she was less than a hundred mi from Skylar, and her heart was about to beat
out of her chest. All she could do was pray.
Don’t spot me, don't spot me.
It was true that Veron despised Skylar to no end. It was also true that she had just helped Master Magaera
escape. If it had been before, there was no way she would have hidden herself. No, she would have confronted
Skylar head on.
Yet recent happenings had grounded Veron, and she was now much more clear-headed.
Veron knew in her heart then that Skylar was extraordinarily powerful. Battling him one-on-one was a trip straight
to hell, as Master Magaera was still restoring his energy and had no way of coming to her aid this quickly.
