Chapter 624
| cast my eyes downward and raised my hand to touch my sore and swollen eyes. "It was all a mistake from the

Theo sneered. "Are you givinga death sentence?"
| looked up at him, my emotions unstirred. "I don’t want anything from the Grants including the companies that
Grandma transferred to my name. I'll leave this marriage with nothing. This will be my repayment to Grandma
for taking care ofback then."
His dark eyes were deep as the ocean. His thin lips trembled slightly, and | could hear suppressed anger i n his
voice. "What's the reason?”

"From the day | stepped into the Grants, | knew that Cindy had a special place in your heart. | was

Meeting his dark eyes, | had the urge to laugh but did not. "I don't blyou for failing to protectand love
me. I'm incapable. But you shouldn't have used m e so unrestrainedly and without any principles because | was

"What did Cindy tell you?" Theo's voice beca little hoarse.
| pursed my lips and clenched my hands into fists so hard that my nails were digging into my flash. "She told me
everything that | can and can't know.”
After a pause, | continued, "I did look forward to finding my parents when | was young, but not anymore after |

to say about that. | would have accepted it even if you had toldabout it straight away."
Theo said, "I couldn't bring myself to tell you-"
"You know full well that Petra would hurtbecause of Cindy yet you pretended that you didn't know anything,
allowing them to hurt me. You're so selfish, Theo!”
My emotions were finally out of control. "You could've talked to me! If you could have just told me, then we
would've gotten a divorce and | would've moved elsewhere with the child. | would never appear in front of your
eyes ever again."
"Wanda..." he said, his eyes dark and gloomy. They seemingly carried a million emotions.
| took a deep breath. "You messed my life up and madego through life and death again and again, even
implicating the people around me. Yet you still wouldn't letgo. What exactly did | do wrong to make you

"I..." he said, his voice choking.
| let out a bitter smile. "I beg you, Theo. Letgo."

The light in the ward was so glaring that my eyes hurt. | closed my eyes and pulled the blanket over myself,
closing my eyes so | would not see anything.
Petra and Grayson rushed over and saw Theo standing beside the hospital bed looking defeated. His entire being
was terrifyingly grim and sullen.
