Chapter 458
When Quinn heard what | said, she was incredibly pissed. She grabbed Theo's arm and said angrily," Didn't you
hear what she said? Aren't you going to say something?"
Theo looked at me, and his lips moved as if he was going to say something. In the end, however, he chose not to
say anything.
It was good that he did not speak up for Quinn. Otherwise, | would have scolded him too.
When Quinn saw that he was not saying anything, she left in a huff.
After that, Theo and | went home. We did not say anything the entire way back. When we got home, | locked
myself in the bedroom while Theo was smart enough to not followin.
I hid under the covers, curled up, and hugged my legs. My mind kept replaying the scene of Matthew getting hit

Tears flowed from my eyes, and | felt incredibly remorseful. If I could have accompanied him a little longer and
guided him, he would not have tried to kill Quinn. This tragedy would not have happened.
Why did | care about what Theo thought and leave him alone?
Did | forget that he was the one who gotthrough the hardest tof my life?
No, | had not forgotten, but | had ungratefully chosen t o leave him behind.
| slapped myself hard before crawling out of bed from under the covers.
It was freezing cold outside, but I left the villa without a coat.
The coldness spread throughout my body. I lay down o n the snow, punishing myself. | looked at the dark sky and
wondered if Matthew was also looking down at m e from above the sky.
Miss Woods cout of the villa and ran up to me. She urgently told me, "Young Mistress, why are you lying in
the snow in the middle of winter without a coat? Are you trying to get sick?"
"I don't care," | said bitterly.
"Nonsense." Miss Woods squatted down to helpup. "Con, I'll help you up. You'll get sick if you keep lying
there."
| pushed her hand away. "Don't worry about me."
| could only think clearer in the cold. If | was alone in a n enclosed space, | would just keep thinking about how
Matthew looked before he died. I... | would go
crazy.
Miss Woods sighed and turned to leave.
Not long after, Theo appeared in front of me. He was wearing a black shirt and a pair of black suit pants which
made him look extra serious. | indifferently looked away. "Leavealone. | just need you to let m e be for a

Theo pursed his lips without saying a word. He bent down and pickedup from the snow.
| did not resist him because | had no strength left and my head was dizzy.
He carriedback to the bedroom and puton the bed. He held my cold, ice-like hands and said in a cold
voice, "Are you so sad that he's dead? Are you hoping t o go with him as well?"
"Are you saying that his death is not worthgetting sad over at all?" | questioned him back.
Theo's expression remained indifferent.
| suddenly realized that he indeed did not think Matthew's death was something worth being sad over. He might
even be happy about it. After all, he had never liked Matthew.
He and Quinn were exactly the same-extremely selfish and self-centered people.
