Chapter 2722

Leah got up. “I’m going to the restroom.”

As she walked away, Dennis kept his eyes on her.

When she got to the restroom, she realized the woman was there. She was startled but then

walked over to the sink area.

Leah asked her as a colleague, “Did you have too much to drink?”

The woman shook her head.

“Good then. It’s best not to drink too much at an event like this.” Leah took a napkin and

wiped her lipstick away. After a moment, she saw a scar around the woman’s wrist. “What’s

wrong with your hand?”

She panicked and pulled her sleeve to cover her hand. “Nothing.” She quickly walked to the

door but stopped before stepping out, then turned back to look at Leah. “Don’t trust

Dennis.”

She then quickly left.

Leah frowned. ‘Don’t trust Dennis…

‘Did something happen to her? And that scar, was it from being tied up?”

Leah stayed there for a while but bumped into Dennis when she went out. Leah still had her

mind on the woman and panicked when she suddenly saw him.

Dennis noticed her expression and squinted. “Did Aina tell you something?”

‘Aina? That is her name?”

Leah looked at him and asked, “Isn’t she your girlfriend? Why do you ask?”

Dennis paused, smiled, and explained, “She’s my ex.”

“You broke up?”

“Correct.” There wasn’t a change in his expression. “She cheated and betrayed me.

Shouldn’t we break up?”

Lean never asked what happened to her wrists, but she knew it wasn’t as simple as that.

“I guess that’s why you have an odd dynamic.”

Dennis raised his brow, and his eyes were dark. “Did she say something bad about me to

you?”

Leah reacted quickly. “If she cheated, why would she want to say something bad about

you?”

He didn’t reply. After a long pause, he smiled. “It wouldn’t be the first time she did that.”

Leah smiled too. “That’s why you’re so cautious. I guess it’s never nice to be slandered.”

Dennis looked at her. “You understand me.”

Leah calmly replied, “I don’t think that’s understanding. Everyone has their own way of

thinking. I should get back to my seat after being away for so long.”

She turned around, and her face immediately dropped. The man had seen through her but

didn’t call her out.

They finally left at 9:00 p.m.

Dennis stood next to Leah and asked, “Did you drive? Do you need a ride?”

Leah looked at her watch. “Thanks, but someone is picking me up.”

“That’s too bad.”

Soon after, an SUV stopped outside, and Leah got in.

Morrison and Dennis looked at each other, then Morrison drove away.

In the car, Morrison kept his eyes on the road. “Why didn’t you leave in his car this time?”

Leah looked at him and teased, “You sound jealous.”

When she noticed Morrison’s awkward expression, she quickly said, “I’m just joking.”

He frowned and didn’t reply.

Leah leaned back in her seat. “By the way, I think Dennis’ ex-girlfriend was abused.”

“His ex-girlfriend?” Morrison squinted. “I don’t remember him having a girlfriend. He does

have a lot of lady friends, though.”
