Chapter 931

Zach continued enthusiastically, “When you want to take a break from reading, you could try some games our

gaming department developed; you might enjoy it. And if there’s a particular game you want, just let

me know.”

He was like an old man with an endless stream of thoughts to share.

Madelyn’s patience wore thin. With a flick of her wrist, she tossed the phone onto the bed. “Zach, I don’t need any

of this,” she declared, exasperated.

‘He declares his love one moment, but he might as well claim my life the next.’ Madelyn thought to herself.

Zach, undeterred, replied gently, “It’s okay if you don’t accept it now, Madelyn. One day, you might, and I’ll wait. I

may not know how to love someone properly, but I’m willing to learn, step by step.

Madelyn’s tolerance faded. She pushed his hand away and stepped back. She said flatly, “You’re beyond

saving.”

Zach chuckled lightly, “Perhaps you’re right.”

“And you’re a madman,” Madelyn accused.

“You might say that,” Zach agreed, unfazed.

Zach had been diligent with his treatments to keep his temper in check, ensuring he would not repeat the past

incident where he lost control and caused harm to Madelyn. He sensed that her feelings toward him were evolving.

He believed there would come a time when everything would fall into place.

Later, after they had dined, Zach escorted Madelyn for a stroll. By 7:30 p.m., he was leading video. conferences

with multiple international branches, accounting for the time differences. The

communication setup was a new piece of equipment from Jardin Corporation and was foreign to Zach.

Usually, Kevin was the one managing it.

As the meeting wrapped up, the executives expected Zach to end the call. But they observed him leaning back in

his chair, hand on his forehead, seemingly lost in thought.

Emerging from the bath, Madelyn walked out, drying her hair. Zach got up, took the towel from her, and

dried her hair.

The executives who were on the call exchanged glances, conversing in fluent Etlinish.

Madelyn heard the voices from the laptop and understood what they were saying because she had

learned Etlinish while living in France.

After a while, Zach finished drying Madelyn’s hair. He then applied some moisturizer to her skin to combat the dry

winter weather. She protested, “That’s enough, Zach. I can do it myself.”

“Just stay still. I’m almost done,” Zach murmured.

“It hurts,” she complained.

“Mhm,” he acknowledged absentmindedly.

Zach’s hand on her chin might seem casual to an onlooker as if he were fiddling with some gadget.

Madelyn could not stand it any longer. Ever since their argument, Zach had been like a plaster, impossible to shake

off. She went to the bedside table for her medicine and then to the coffee table to pick up her water cup. It was

then that someone noticed an extra delicate arm in front of the camera.

“Wow~”

The sudden exclamation startled Madelyn, causing her to spill water from her cup. She asked, “Why is

your video conference still running?”

‘The video call had been left on, and everything we’d said… Had they all heard it?’ Madelyn wondered.

Zach replied nonchalantly, “I don’t know how to turn it off.”
