Zach stood up from the couch. “Got it,” he said and headed upstairs.
In the study of his master bedroom, he paused by the large windows, gazing at the sky filled with stars. Picking up
the phone, he dialed a number.
Kevin answered instantly, “Mr. Jardin.”
Zach said, “Look into it. Around noon today, find out who left the company to meet Madelyn.”
In a well-lit office at Jardin Corporation, Kevin cast a sidelong glance at a jittery woman. tucked away in a corner.
Redirecting his attention, he responded calmly, “That’s Blake Dion from the secretary’s office.”
Zach asked, “She?” He did not recognize her. Typically, only a few top leaders, including Kevin, interacted directly
with Zach.
“Mr. Jardin, please hold on,” Kevin said, passing the phone to Blake. “Do you want to explain, or should I?”
Caught off guard, Blake replied, “Speaking to Mr. Jardin? I mean, I’m just an intern. I’m really nervous.”
Kevin’s expression grew stern. Taking a step outside with the phone, he clarified the situation. to Zach. Once Zach
understood, his worries seemed to vanish.
‘Did she paint that just as a gift?’ Zach said, “Kevin, handle this yourself.”
Kevin replied, “Yes, sir.”
