“What? Don’t tell me you really think this engagement is still necessary?”

“Lamont, don’t forget we have an engagement between us. I have already set my heart on you a long time ago.”

Leila spoke carefully, almost reaching out to grab him

“Is that so? But I don’t remember it. In my memory, you’re already a thing of the past. Don’t delude yourself

anymore, or I won’t give you face like I did today,” Lamont said coldly before brushing past her.

“Wait, Lamont, how can you be so heartless? Our engagement was your promise. What should I do if you suddenly

break your promise?”

Leila cried out with a broken heart.

Lamont said coldly before getting into his car and driving away.

Leila watched Lamont leave with her heart full of sadness.

She directed all of her grievances and resentment toward Amelie.

“If it weren’t for Amelie, how could Lamont treat me like this?”

She then pulled out her phone, made a call, and walked away.

Amelie didn’t head straight to the address. She instead made a call to Belen to ask for assistance in caring for

Emilee first.

She still needed to go back to the set to film, and even if she couldn’t, she had to ask Mr. Thomson for a leave of

absence.

It was better to do that kind of thing in person to show sincerity.

She had already packed her stuff and was prepared to leave when Belen arrived.

Amelie got a call from Lamont as soon as she went downstairs.

She hesitated for a long time before deciding not to answer.

She didn’t want Lamont to be aware of her predicament in case it led to any problems.

After the call ended, she continued walking along the road..

“Why didn’t you pick up the phone?”

“Why did you come here?” She asked with a weird expression.

“If I didn’t come over, I wouldn’t have known that you didn’t want to answer my phone call at all.”

Amelie wanted to explain quickly, but she couldn’t find the words.

Until now, she didn’t really have the mood to care about so much.

Lamont stopped talking when he realized how depressed she was.

“Where are you going? I’m coming with.”

Hearing his proposal, Amelie instantly shook her head. “No, it is not necessary. You should leave, Mr. Byron. I’m only

going to the set of the movie to take care of some business.”

She didn’t want him to spend any more time or energy on him, especially since this matter also involved Emilee’s

Lamont’s emotions became agitated, and he stared at her intently.

She turned and left, but just a few steps away, she ran into Cynthia.
