Chapter 2145

“Madam, there’s a group of officers at the door. They say they need to speak with you.”

Ivy set down her water and pondered for a moment, suspecting that the production crew had decided to involve

the police after all.

Well, that was just fine by her. Once she had given her statement, she could leave it in the hands of the officers.

She was confident they would clear her name.

But as soon as Ivy descended the stairs, the officers were ready to escort her away.

“Grandma, Grandpa, just stay put at home. I haven’t done anything wrong. They just need to take an investigation,

that’s all.”

Hearing Ivy’s explanation, Alyssa’s anxiety subsided.

“Ivy, tell me the truth. Has something happened again? My old heart can’t take much more of this.”

Ivy offered a reassuring smile and instructed the housekeeper to prepare some calming herbal tea for them.

“It’s really nothing. By the time you wake up from your afternoon nap, I’ll be back home.”

After ensuring everything was in order, Ivy turned and followed the officers out..

It was her first time riding in a police cruiser to the station, and Ivy felt a mix of nerves and trepidation.

Even though she knew she was innocent, the situation was still frightening.

“Where were you between 9 and 10 a.m., Ms. Dunhill?”

“I was actually at the police station around that time, possibly near the entrance. I believe there should be

surveillance footage. that can confirm this.”
