your big brother, Baber, at preschool recently?”

Ellinor sternly said, “I’ll be upset if you don’t tell the truth.”

Layla blinked her eyes before coming clean. “Okay, Mommy, I’ll tell you everything. The kids at preschool have

been saying that Baber isn’t your real child. They keep saying that he’s a discarded orphan. They also say his real

mother is an immoral woman and that he carries a nasty virus, so everyone should stay away from him.”

Ellinor’s brow furrowed. Who would spread such vile rumors at a preschool?! No wonder Baber had been off

recently!
