Chapter 1596

Ellinor unabashedly seated herself on the edge of the bed. “It’s Saturday. I have no work, and I’m bored.”

Marcus’ brow furrowed further. “Don’t come over in the morning next time. I understand you’re agile, but it’s

dangerous to always enter through the window. Be careful.”

Ellinor kicked her legs up nonchalantly. “I come because I know I won’t get caught.”

Marcus was at a loss with her. His tone was clearly annoyed. “Alright, I can’t control you. Do whatever you want.”

Ellinor raised an eyebrow at him. “Are you angry?”

Marcus had a stern face. He maneuvered his wheelchair to the bay window, silently staring out. “No.”

Ellinor got up, walked over, and turned his wheelchair to face her, forcing him to look at her. “Hey! You dare be

angry with me?”

Marcus looked up at her. “Why would I be angry? You’re just doing what you want to do. What right do I have to

interfere?”

Ellinor pinched his chin. “Still saying you’re not angry? Your expression clearly shows that you’re cursing me in your

heart.”

Marcus was expressionless. “No, my expression is always like this.”

Ellinor chuckled. “Oh, please! I’ve seen all your expressions. How could I not know if you’re angry or not?”

Marcus was annoyed. He couldn’t stand up, and he couldn’t remember his past. It felt like he was stuck in a swamp,

unable to ever get out.

Ellinor felt tired from bending over, so she simply squatted in front of him, resting her cheek on her hands. “Are you

angry that I came to see you early in the morning, or are you angry that I went to the balcony? Or, are you angry

that I disturbed your alone time with Sophia?”

Upon hearing her innocent words, Marcus’ annoyance eased off a bit. “I’m angry at myself for not being able to

protect you and the child.”

Ellinor smirked. “Then you should be angry at yourself. You’re so sluggish.”

Marcus thought she would at least comfort him, but she agreed with him instead. “Are you here just to provoke

me?”

Ellinor tilted her head. “Nope! Theo, didn’t you understand my hidden meaning just then?”

Marcus’ eyebrows furrowed slightly. “Your hidden meaning?”

Ellinor said frankly, “You know, when you first asked me why I came at this time, didn’t you understand my

answer?”

Marcus recalled her response. “It’s Saturday, no work, and I’m bored.” How could he not understand such a

straightforward answer?

After seeing his confused face, Ellinor rubbed her temples and said with a pout. “Theo, what I meant by that

sentence was that I miss you. Do you really need me to say it directly? It’s so cheesy.”

Marcus paused as his heart began to tremble.

Was this little girl teasing him on purpose because she wanted to see his reaction?

“Even if you miss me, you can’t disregard the actual situation and just come over.” He sighed softly; his temper was

completely gone.

Ellinor squatted in front of him, supporting her face in her hands, looking dissatisfied. “Ugh, men! At this moment,

aren’t you supposed to say ‘I miss you too? Who wants to hear your lecture?”

Marcus couldn’t help but smile at her antics. There was a hint of sarcasm in his tone. “How do you know I miss you

too?”

Ellinor stood up and shrugged. “Yeah! You don’t even remember me, so how could you miss me? I guess I just love

to imagine things, right?”

Marcus caught a glimpse of the slight disappointment on her face and gently reached out to hold her hand.

“Although I don’t remember the old you, these past few days, I have been missing you.”

Ellinor looked at him as a spark lit up in her dim eyes. “Miss me how?”

Marcus said honestly, “I miss the way you first appeared when you pinched my neck and the way you kissed my

cheek that day.”

Ellinor pulled a face. “Is that it? I thought you were completely attracted by my charm and fell in love with me

again, even though you don’t remember me.”
