Chapter 1419

When the nurse carried the babies away, Bryan, who had been quietly standing by the side, peered curiously at his

tiny niece and nephew, finding them irresistibly adorable.

Ellinor, after bidding farewell to the nurses, turned her attention to Bryan, asking, “Where’s your brother? Why are

you alone?”

“I heard you were rushed to the hospital, so I came straight here. I haven’t seen my brother.”

Ellinor was too spent to probe further and simply replied with a “hmm.”

Bryan moved closer to Ellinor. His face was serious as he spoke her praises. “Ellinor, I must say, you’re quite

something. Delivering twins in one go is a heck of an achievement.”

Ellinor managed a wry smile. “Well, thank you.”

Bryan, unaware of the situation, glanced around the room, looking puzzled. “Where’s Theo? Isn’t he here?”

At the mention of Theo, Ellinor’s pale face turned sour, and she scoffed. “Who knows where he’s gone off to?”

Bryan furrowed his brows and expressed his disapproval. “You’re giving birth, and Theo’s not here? He is the father,

after all. That’s pretty irresponsible.”

Ellinor’s expression darkened further.

Ida regretted letting him in. She cleared her throat, walked over, and tried to hush him. “Alright, she needs to rest.

You need to stop prying.”

Bryan, as if electrocuted, immediately sidestepped Ida’s touch and moved further away from her.

Ida paused. Bryan’s seemingly repulsed reaction took her by surprise. He was usually more than happy to engage

in physical contact with her.

Bryan could feel Ida’s probing gaze and became irritated. “Ahem! Ellinor, you take care. I’ll step out. I’m not sure

what women need after childbirth. If you need anything to eat or drink, let me know, and I can get it for you.”

Ellinor nodded. “Alright, thanks. Nothing for now.”

Bryan didn’t press further and exited the room.

Even after he left, Ida’s gaze lingered on the door.

Once outside, Bryan sat down on the waiting chairs, his head drooping as he lost himself in thought.

Until a pair of high-heeled shoes appeared in his line of sight.

He recognized those shoes. They belonged to Ida.

Taken aback, he looked up at Ida, who was now towering over him, and asked irritably, “What? What do you want?”

Ida’s brows furrowed slightly. She adjusted her sliding gold-rimmed glasses and asked, “What’s wrong with you?”

Bryan grunted. “Nothing! I’m perfectly fine! I’m just sitting here, keeping an eye on my sister, who just gave birth to

twins. What’s the problem? Can’t I do that?”

Ida’s frown deepened. The kid was acting off today. Had something happened?

“No problem at all. You can sit wherever you want.”

Bryan glared at her. “Then stay away from me. Don’t bother me with your presence.”

Ida paused. The kid actually found her annoying?

She scoffed lightly and took a seat next to him. “Bryan, have you finally come to your senses?”

Bryan disliked Ida’s flippant attitude. “Please! Even if I did come to my senses, I wouldn’t be as wild as your ex.”

The sarcasm in his words was unmistakable.

Ida wasn’t offended; rather, she was intrigued. “What’s gotten into you today? It’s not like you just found out about

my wild side.”

Bryan clenched his teeth. Every time he thought about the man he saw in Ida’s office, he felt an uncontrollable

rage.

But now, he knew clearly that he was never her boyfriend in her eyes. He didn’t even have the right to feel jealous

or angry.

Each of his tantrums was treated by her as a childish game. It was nothing more than a laughing matter to her.
