Chapter 1702

Ellinor was left completely confused, “Fall from grace?”

Veronica crossed her arms and furrowed her brows. She leaned in closer and whispered, “Ellinor, do you think I’m

blind? I can see what the marks on your neck are.”

Márks on her neck? Ellinor was still confused until Veronica used her phone to take a picture of her, letting her see

the hickeys on her neck.

Ellinor’s face turned red in a split second. “Um… this is…”

Veronica put her hands on her hips. “Don’t lie to me! I know what this is! Ellinor, how could you and Byran…”

Ellinor immediately retaliated with a playful punch. “Nonsense! You know what’s going on between him and me,

right?”

Veronica, rubbing her aching head, realized it couldn’t be Byran.

Byran was Ellinor’s brother. Then who could it be?

“Ellinor, my brother is back! You said you would find a way to bring him home, didn’t you? Now is not the time for

you to be falling for someone else.”

Ellinor rubbed her temples, feeling slightly annoyed by Veronica’s accusations. “It’s not what you think. Go get

ready for your date, and don’t worry about

me.”

She didn’t have the heart to tell Veronica that she had seen her brother that morning. Even worse, the hickeys on

her neck were his doing.

Veronica, with a heavy heart, began to plead for her brother. “Ellinor…”

Ellinor cut her off. “Shut up! If you keep nagging, you won’t be going on your date today.”

Thinking of Moran, who was still waiting for her, Veronica hesitated for a moment but ultimately decided to go get

ready.

After Veronica left, Layla approached Ellinor and tugged at her dress. “Mommy, what did Aunt Veronica say to

you?”

Ellinor snapped back to reality and looked down at her daughter. “Nothing, darling. Let’s go inside.”

Layla pouted and opened her arms for a hug. “Mommy…”

Ellinor couldn’t resist her daughter’s charm. She bent down to scoop her up while gently patting her back. “Yes,

Mommy’s here.”

Layla nestled her head on her mother’s shoulder as she mumbled, “Mommy, I don’t want to talk to Adrian

anymore.”

Before Ellinor could respond, Adrian angrily huffed, “I don’t want to talk to you either!”

Layla shot him a hateful glance. “Humph!”

Ellinor was caught between laughter and tears as she watched her two little ones bicker. “Enough! Are you two

going to keep this up? You want to sever your sibling ties over such a small matter? Who taught you that?”

Layla pouted. “That’s how they do it on TV. Mommy, why don’t you just get rid of this Adrian and bring back the old

one? I liked him; at least he wasn’t mean to me.”

Adrian was not pleased. “Mom, do you see? She’s always saying that I’m not as good as others!”

Ellinor held Layla in one arm and took Adrian’s hand in the other. “You two need to stop this! Adrian, you need to

change your attitude when talking to your sister. Layla, you should not speak ill of your brother either, whether it’s

this one or the one who was mistakenly brought back by me before. They are both your real brothers. We are a

family, and soon you will meet again.”

Adrian hesitantly accepted. “Okay.”
