"Chairman Crawley said he's heading out on a business trip," Nell replied.

Brandon furrowed his brow even tighter, "What business trip?"

Daniel, just coming downstairs with clothes in hand, jumped into the conversation, "Just hitting the road to clear my head, take a

little vacay. After a close call with the reaper, I've had an epiphany. Gotta make the most of the good days left and see the world

while | still can."

As he spoke, Daniel passed the clothes to Nell, "Toss these in too."

Brandon shot him a glance. Daniel looked completely at ease as he turned to Brandon, "What brings you over?"

He hadn't forgotten his recent bout of the blues and couldn't help but look at him with concern, "Feeling any better these past few

days?"

Brandon knew full well what he was worried about. Those days of had given him speace lately.

He didn't respond, just let out a long sigh, and after a brief "I'm fine", he turned and slumped onto the couch, resting his neck

against it and gazing at the ceiling, still looking pretty wiped out.

This fatigue made Daniel all the more worried and anxious, especially since Brandon wasn't one to hang around the house much.

Seeing him crash on the couch like a sack of potatoes was definitely not the norm.

"Something happen?" Daniel asked, his tone slowing down, super careful not to ruffle any feathers.

"It's nothing," Brandon replied with the slack of energy as before, and then looked back at him, "Did you go see my daughter

the other day?"

"Me? Go see her? | wouldn't dare. Just bumped into her on the street." Daniel said, and couldn't resist a little rant, "Speaking of

which, | need to give you a heads-up. That girl's part of our family after all. She ought to know where she comes from, or else who

knows what she'll turn into, hanging around her mom all day."

Brandon gave him a cold look, "Know where she comes from? What's that even mean? | don't know what you said to her, but she's

been bawling her eyes out, thinking her mom doesn't want her anymore."

"I never said anything like that," Daniel protested.

"Isn't that the gist of it?" Brandon said, letting out another sigh, looking drained, "I'm not taking the kid. She's better off with her

mom. And don't you go thinking about all that legacy and lineage stuff. If you're so eager for grandkids, go have your own."

Daniel sensed something was off, especially recalling the recent incidents with Brandon getting plastered in the office because of

Sophia and looking like he was ready to jump out of a window. Hearing Brandon talk like this now only heightened his concerns.

"Still not over it, huh?" Daniel asked, worried.

Brandon didn't reply, just propped his head up with one hand and listlessly watched Nell pack his luggage, telling Daniel in a flat

voice, "Leave that kid alone from now on. She's fine with her mom. If you run into her, just act like you don't know her. Consider it

a small wish from a son, alright? That's what | owe to her and her mom."

This sounded disturbingly like last words.

Brandon stood up, "I'm off."

As he turned to leave, he glanced at the suitcase still being packed, "Where's the vacation spot?"

"Just a local road trip for now." Daniel said, "I'm having our driver Jason take me. Gonna hit up the nearby cities first."

Brandon nodded, left him with a "Stay safe", and took off.

Watching Brandon's retreating figure, Daniel couldn't help but sigh, feeling uneasy but helpless. All he could do was call Kent and

ask him to keep a close eye on Brandon.

After finishing the call, Nell had the suitcase all packed and loaded into the trunk. Driver Jason was already waiting in the driver's

seat.

Daniel got into the car.

"To Zion City," as soon as he was in the car, Daniel gave the order.
