“Both of you are well known for your do-good mission.” Ralph made a jealous face.
Justin turned to the love of his life and pinched the nape of her neck for a massage. “I'm not. I'm just supporting Bella. Bella is the
best. She’s smart and kind.”
“Ralph was mocking us, but you were humble and put the flattery on me. The weight of responsibility might just kill me.”
Bella narrowed her eyes and elbowed Ralph in the ribs.
“] wasn’t mocking you. I'm serious.” Ralph adopted a grim countenance. “The perpetrator who held Carrie hostage killed two
school bullies.”

Justin grimaced.
Bella's eyes reflected iciness.
The couple had experienced abuse to sextent in their childhood, so they were against bullying more than anyone else.
“The perpetrator has a daughter who endured abuse from these five bullies. The bullies even took indecent photos of her and
made the girl their slave, or they would post the photos on the school’s website.
“The girl and her father filed a report with the station more than once, but the case was closed apparently due to a lack of
evidence. The five bulliese from money and power, so the girl and her father couldn’t turn to anyone. They couldn't get out of
the bad situation. In the end, the girl tried to end her life by jumping off the building.”
“Theye from money and power?”
Justin's piercing gaze spoke of hostility. “Givetheir names. | want to see how much power and money they hold.”
Bella teared up. “How is the girl now?”
“She's still unconscious in surgery.”
Ralph sighed frustratedly and clenched his fists. “I read the file and saw the girl's medical records. There was enough proof to
charge the bullies, and they are adults now. If we go by normal procedure...”
“If you could go by normal procedure, you wouldn't be asking for our help.” Bella saw through him.
Ralph swallowed hard, his voice raspy. “Murderers should pay for their crimes. | sympathize with the father, but | don’t agree with
his revenge. He should face legal punishment. But his daughter is innocent. The perpetrators should be held responsible and pay
the price for their misfortune.
“That was the only thing her father could do to avenge her daughter at the time,” Justin murmured.
“You must have a lot of cases like this, Ralph.”

Bella asked curiously, “Why do you care so much about this particular case? Do you know her?”
Ralph recalled Carrie curling up in his arms, her lashes and nose tip wet with tears. His heart went out to the flustered yet adorable
girl. “The incident only started and escalated from the bullying. | can’t stand by and do nothing.
“The other reason is because Carrie askedto seek justice for the girl.”
The couple was taken aback at the mention of Carrie.
“Everything was happening quickly, and Carrie got to safety because she convinced the perpetrator that she would be with the girl
through it all and would help them seek justice. | don’t want to let Carrie down.”
Finding his remark inappropriate, Ralph added, “Carrie is kind and innocent. | hope she stays that way. | hope lies do not exist in
her world.”
Bella stared straight at Ralph, whose eyes reflected unspoken emotions.
“If that’s what Carrie wants, | will make it happen.”
