Chapter 911

“Fully recovering may probably take half a year to one year. Yet, it should be fine to carry some lightweight things

after a week. Then, after one month, there should be no problem in doing simple typing and writing,” Rosalie said.

“That’s good.” Lillian heaved a sigh of relief.

After saying goodbye to Amelia, Rosalie headed to the Burton residence.

Lillian, who sat in the concession stand, told Amelia, “Alas, Rosalie hurried to see her son right after she was

discharged from the hospital. But Zeki’s attitude toward her…”

“The kid is still so young, and Rosalie is like a stranger to him. It’ll get better after some time. He’s so clingy to his

so-called sister. It shows that he’ll accept those who sincerely treat him well,” Amelia commented.

“I hope so,” Lillian said.

After the duo chatted for a while, Aiden came back. When he saw Lillian, he greeted her politely.

“Why are your clothes so dirty? Did you fall?” Amelia asked.

“I accidentally fell,” Aiden replied.

“Even the pants are torn.” Lillian saw a hole caused by friction in the knee part of Aiden’s pants, which she thought

was caused by his fall.

“Go and change your pants. I’ll fix it for you,” Amelia instructed.

Aiden hummed in response and went to the room to change his pants.

Looking at Aiden’s diminutive figure, Lillian furrowed her brows slightly. Then, she took a glance at Amelia. Seeing

that Amelia was busy with her business at the concession stand, Lillian walked into the room, too.

Aiden was about to take off his pants when he saw Lillian. His tiny face was reddened in an instant. “Did you fight?”

Lillian questioned without waiting for him to speak.

Aiden’s expression stiffened when she said that.

“Don’t lie. When I was young, I got into a fight so often that it worried my parents so much. You’ve always been a

cautious person. If you really fall, it won’t be as serious as this. There are many signs of friction over here, here,

and here.” Lillian directly pointed to several spots on Aiden’s shirt. Then, she grabbed Aiden’s trousers and rolled

them up. There were some bruises on his lower leg.

“What exactly happened?” Lillian questioned. She knew Aiden was not a child who would want to cause trouble. On

the contrary, it could be said that Aiden was a quiet child. He would not cause any trouble for no reason. “Did

someone bully you at school?” Lillian continued.

Aiden’s body trembled slightly. Sure enough, what Lillian had said was right.

“Why did they bully you?” Lillian probed.

Aiden hesitated momentarily before saying, “Because I’m wearing hearing aids. They said disabled people should

attend special needs schools instead of studying here. They also said Mommy must have done something bad.

That’s why she gave birth to a disabled child like me.”

Hearing this, Lillian’s nose began to tingle. As she straightened up her back, she uttered. “Who said that? I’ll go and

look for their parents!”

“Lillian!” Aiden quickly grabbed hold of Lillian and added, “D-Don’t go to look for their parents. I don’t want Mommy

to know about this.”

Aiden knew that what Amelia cared about the most was his inaudibility. Silently, Aiden remarked, “Mommy’s eyes

always glint with guilt whenever she looks at my hearing aid. Mommy keeps saying I’m deaf because she took cold

medicine during pregnancy. But I don’t blame Mommy at all. Mommy is the best! I don’t want Mommy to be upset

and sad.”

In actuality, if those people had not mentioned Amelia that day, Aiden would not have fought with them. Looking at

Aiden’s nervous expression, Lillian could not help but sigh. “Okay. I won’t tell your mommy. But you’ve got to call

me and let me know if they say this to you again. I can go and communicate with

your teacher. We’ll see how we can stop them from doing so.”

“Thank you, Lillian!” Aiden responded obediently.

Lillian caressed Aiden’s head, thinking, “Sometimes, this child is so sensible that it makes my heart ache for him.

He’s only nine years old. Compared to his peers, he has already endured so many more hardships.”

At that moment, the duo did not notice Amelia, who leaned against the wall at the doorway. There were tears in her

eyes.

In actuality, it did cross Amelia’s mind that Aiden would be discriminated against on his hearing. However, since he

had never told her, Amelia had always assumed that Aiden’s classmates did not discriminate against him.

Amelia thought Aiden could be like the other ordinary children, growing up healthily and happy in school while

gaining knowledge.

Nevertheless, now it seemed that it was just her wishful thinking.

Inwardly, Amelia remarked, “Originally, he should have been a healthy child. He shouldn’t be

discriminated against at all. It was me who had harmed him. It was me…”

At that moment, Amelia only felt that her heart was throbbing painfully.

Meanwhile, Rosalie and Jonathan had arrived at the Burton residence. Wayne and Jeanette wished so badly that

they could announce the duo’s arrival to everyone in the neighborhood.

However, under Jonathan’s cold gaze, Wayne and Jeanette naturally dared not to do anything.

As for Rosalie, she found out that the Burton family had already cleaned up Zekiah’s room.

However, Karina told Rosalie that Zekiah would go to her room to sleep with her instead of sleeping in his room.

“I like sleeping with Karrie,” Zekiah echoed.

When Rosalie was about to leave the Burton residence, Karina could not help asking, “Ms. Leighton, can Zeki still be

my brother after this?”

Karina knew that one day, Zekiah would return to the Youngblood family. Her biggest fear was that she would no

longer have a connection with Zekiah after he left the Burton residence.

“Now, Zekiah’s surname is still Burton. He is my brother. We’re still siblings. There is still a connection between us,”

Karina mused.

“Of course,” Rosalie stated as she glanced at Wayne and Jeanette, who were nearby, trying their best to keep up

their image as good parents. Then, Rosalie averted her gaze to look at Karina. “Karina, have you considered my

suggestion? Come along with Zeki to live in the Youngblood residence. The Youngblood family will bear all your

living expenses and tuition fees. You don’t have to worry about anything.” Karina hesitated for a while before

shaking her head. “I… Daddy is still here, and this house was left to me by my mommy. I don’t want to leave here.”

To Karina, the house contained memories of her and her mother.”

Looking at Karina’s current expression made Rosalie think of herself. “Okay, then. Just give me a call if you face any

difficulties.”

“Thank you, Ms. Leighton,” answered Karina.

Upon returning to the Youngblood/Residence, the two little ones had already corne home from kindergarten. When

they saw Rosalie, Jennifer naturally dashed forward to give Rosalie kisses and hugs. After saying that she missed

Rosalie so much, Jennifer thoughtfully asked, “Mommy, does your hand still hurt? It won’t hurt after I blow on it.”

With that said, Jennifer leaned closer and blew at Rosalie’s hand. To Rosalie, it was so heartwarming.
