Chapter 859
She found great satisfaction in the fate that befell Agyness and Yoel!
“By the way, the recording from the scene, was it also found by the experts at Jonathan’s request?” Lillian asked.
“No, it was Guille who found it,” Rosalie replied.
“Guille?” Lillian’s eyes widened in surprise. “Are kids these days really that impressive?”
Amelia was also taken by surprise, but given that her own child, Aiden, was already quite precocious, she wasn’t as
startled as Lillian.
“Yeah, it appears Guille is quite adept with computers,” Rosalie added.
The three of them sat at the entrance of Amelia’s concession stand, engaging in casual conversation. Just then,
Rosalie noticed, from the corner of her eye, a small figure making its way toward the nearby elementary school
gate.
The figure was familiar to Rosalie; it was the boy named Zekiah, who had left quite an impression on her.
What caught her off guard was the way he walked now, each step marked by a noticeable limp.
“Hey, why isn’t there any adult with such a young kid?” Lillian, who had also noticed the boy, couldn’t help but find it
strange.
Amelia quickly filled Lillian in on Zekiah’s situation.
“This kid is in quite a pitiable situation. He’s an orphan who was adopted, but in his adoptive family, he isn’t treated
very well. He has an older sister, who is his only source of kindness. However, she is relatively young herself, and
what’s more, she has lost her biological mother.”

Lillian couldn’t help but think that their family relations were incredibly complex. “Exactly. If you didn’t know better,

walk, he’s waiting for his sister at the school gate,” Amelia explained, sighing with sympathy for the child. Still, she
realized it was a family matter beyond her control.
“He got injured?” Rosálie was taken aback.
“Yes, I heard there was a conflict between his sister and their stepmother. When the stepmother tried to strike his
sister, he stepped in and took the blow, to the extent that the ruler was broken. Their neighbor even called the
police,” Amelia added.
Upon hearing this, Rosalie felt a sharp pain in her chest.
“Even a ruler was broken. Just imagine how much pain that kid must have

suffered!” Rosalie thought.
She immediately got up and walked over to Zekiah.
“What’s Rosalie doing…” Lillian was puzzled.
“Rosalie had some prior interactions with that kid, and she seems quite concerned about him,” Amelia said.
“Speaking of which, Rosalie was pregnant with three children before this, but she hasn’t found one of them. I
wonder how the missing child is doing. Maybe she’s projecting her feelings onto this kid,” Lillian remarked.
“Maybe. If Rosalie could find her child sooner, it would be great. We don’t know where that child is now or how the
child is doing.” said Amelia.
As a mother herself, Amelia understood how crucial children were to a mother. If one day, Aiden were separated
from her, she feared the pain would be unbearable. “They’ll eventually find the child. If even a prestigious family
like the Youngblood family can’t locate their child, then there are very few people in the world who can,” Lillian
commented optimistically.
At this moment, Rosalie had already walked up to Zekiah. As she got closer, she became even more alarmed.
Zekiah’s uncovered skin bore obvious bruises from his injuries, and his
once-lovely little face was somewhat swollen. It wasn’t difficult to picture just how much more swollen it must have
been a few days earlier.
“Does it hurt?” Rosalie couldn’t help but crouch down, her eyes level with the child in front of her.
Although Zekiah’s face was still swollen, his beautiful, luminous eyes remained fixed on the school gate ahead, as if
he hadn’t heard Rosalie’s question at all.
For him, the only thing that mattered was when his sister would finish school and when he could see her. Everything
else was of no concern to him.
Rosalie lifted her hand, intending to touch Zekiah’s bruises, but he pulled away warily.
“I just want to see your injury, there’s no harm intended!” Rosalie quickly reassured him.
Zekiah stared at her for a moment before slowly saying, “I don’t want you to touch me!”
“Well… how about I take you to the hospital to have a doctor look at your injury? It won’t hurt anymore after that,”
she suggested.
“It doesn’t hurt,” Zekiah replied coldly, then turned his head, ignoring Rosalie.
At this moment, Zekiah emitted an air of resistance and detachment, leaving Rosalie feeling helpless.
Just then, Lillian also approached and was shocked by Zekiah’s injuries. “Oh, God. The adults in their family are truly
ruthless to hurt such a small kid like this.””

Lillian then bent down, offering a gentle smile to Zekiah. “Hello, I heard your name is Zekiah, right? I’m Ms. Quinn, a
friend of the lady boss who runs the concession stand over there!”
Unfortunately, Zekiah completely disregarded Lillian’s “gentle” smile. His beautiful eyes remained fixed on the
school gate, unwavering.
“This child seems a bit odd, don’t you think?” Lillian whispered to Rosalie.
“He’s probably like that because of his early experiences,” Rosalie commented.
“Indeed,” Lillian agreed.
Soon, more and more parents gathered at the school gate to pick up their children. When the school gate opened,
students began pouring out.
Zekiah, who had been quiet and wearing an expressionless face, suddenly broke into a smile upon spotting the
person he had been waiting for. Though it was a faint smile, it was nonetheless a smile.
He then rushed over to the young girl with a small schoolbag.
Lillian was amazed. “This child changes his expression so quickly!”
“The siblings indeed have a strong bond,” Rosalie said. She approached the young girl and said, “Hi, we’ve met
before. I’m Rosalie Leighton, but you can call me Ms. Leighton. I’m a friend of the lady boss who runs the
concession stand over there. Your little brother has quite a few injuries, and I’d like to take him to the hospital to see
a doctor. Would that be okay?”
Karina Burton lifted her chin slightly and looked at Rosalie. Karina vaguely remembered her, and the lady boss who
ran the concession stand was quite well-known among the school’s students since many of them visited the store
for snacks after school.
“You wouldn’t want your little brother to suffer from these injuries for too long, would you? Some injuries, if not
treated promptly, can worsen.” Rosalie continued to persuade Karina.
She knew Zekiah listened to Karina.
“Why are you helping Zeki see a doctor?” Karina asked.
