Megan certainly didn't have the patience to wait months for the baby to arrive, and by then, all her chances would be long gone.
Even if Leopold scorned her, despised her, she was determined to stick by him, to shadow his every move, forbidding him any cozy rendezvous with other temptresses. If it came down to it, she'd forgo her pride without a second thought.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWhat were vanity and dignity compared to the esteemed position as the matriarch of the Stirling family and the mother of the heir? To secure her place as the lawful wife and ensure her son's succession, she would bear any humiliation.
"I love Leopold,” she'd declare, "I enjoy being with him. Even if he dislikes me, it doesn't matter. As long as | can see him regularly, and stand by his side, I'm content. Everything else is trivial. | believe that someday, he'll see that | am the woman who loves him most in this world." Lana covered her mouth, feigning a gag, "Good heavens, this is nauseating. I'm getting goosebumps. Let's head to our room, Leopold, | can't bear another minute here.." "Alright," Leopold nodded, leading her to the back room.
This luxury RV boasted two separate rooms. The other was occupied by Skyler, William, and Sierra, engrossed in a game of Monopoly.
Aurelia stepped into their room.
Truth be told, she was almost impressed by Megan's shamelessness.
There was a saying that a person at the peak of shamelessness was invincible. In this regard, Megan had no rivals.

"Let's just enjoy ourselves and pretend she's not here, okay?" Skyler pouted, "But with her around, Leopold won't have fun. | worry he might not want to take us on vacations anymore." Aurelia smiled, "Don't fret. As long as you want to go out, Leopold will bring you. If it comes to it, he can just pull another Houdini like last time and shake Megan off." Skyler smacked his lips, "Poor Leopold. Luckily I'm just a kid and don’t have to marry. Imagine marrying a clinging vine like that, and itd be a disaster.” After his rant, he turned to William, "When you grow up and it's time to find a wife, you better keep your eyes wide open and steer clear of any clinging vines." William crossed his arms, mimicking an adult, "I won't be that foolish. My eyes are like X-rays, and | can spot trouble from a mile away." Aurelia stroked William's hair, chuckling. She'd be the gatekeeper for William's future spouse. His wife would have to be virtuous and kind-hearted, with no chance for any sly or deceptive characters to step foot in her home.
Then, Tanya walked in.
Megan's wailing from outside was grating on her nerves, a veritable heavy load that refused to be propped up.
"Skyler, I was a bit harsh with my words yesterday. You're not holding a grudge, are you?" Tanya inquired.
"I'm mad," Skyler pouted, turning his head away in a huff.
Tanya sighed, "I just wanted to remind you to take your medication. You've been in Elysium for so long without it. Your condition had just stabilized, what if it flares up again?" Skyler's mood instantly soured, "I'm not sick. I'm perfectly healthy. It's you who need medication. You are the real liar." Tanya's face softened in resignation, "You're being stubborn again. You know when you get sick, you can hurt people. What if you hurt William or Aurelia?" Skyler's face flushed with embarrassment and his eyes reddened, "Why do you insist on telling everyone about my illness, making them treat me like a monster? I've never had a friend in my entire life. Not even my siblings want to play with me."
