Chapter 694 “Since Aunt Tanya had said that, | needed to get to the bottom of this mystery. William, it's time we hit the books. You need to master hypnosis at the highest level. If you can do that, you can help me prove what's going on." William stared back, a slow realization dawning on him about what Skyler was trying to prove.
Skyler was unusually quiet at dinner and didn't say a word throughout the meal.
Aurelia, sharp as a tack, sensed something was off. Back in her room, she summoned William.
"Skyler's been acting all kinds of strange today. Something happened?" she inquired.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWilliam spilled the beans about Tanya's visit that afternoon.
“Aunt Tanya says Geoffrey is just a figment of Skyler's imagination. She claimed all the pets Skyler thought he'd had were actually killed by him, but he just doesn't remember. She's telling him he's sick, pushing these pills on him, and he's just heartbroken. Plus, Aunt Tanya was practically shouting so | bet she wanted me and the bodyquard to overhear. She's out to frame Skyler, to cover up Geoffrey's existence." Aurelia was taken aback and quickly briefed Leopold on the situation.
Upon hearing it, Leopold stroked his chin, his expression grave.
"Sounds like Tanya's trying to make us think Skyler's got a split personality, and Geoffrey's his alter ego." Aurelia gasped. She had seen TV shows about multiple personalities, one character had seven, and some of those were women.
"Could Geoffrey be an alter ego Skyler created?" “According to Skyler, Geoffrey's his spitting image, but he's never laid eyes on him. There may be a split personality’ Leopold mused.
“But Skyler didn't say he's never seen Geoffrey, just that he’s never seen his face without a mask” Aurelia countered.
"Typically, the host personality isn't aware of the alter ego, but the alter ego might be clued in. If it's a particularly dark alter, it might even try to overrun the host,’ Leopold said gravely.
“But Skyler's no ordinary guy, and he’s got a PhD in psychology. If he had an alter, wouldn't he realize it?" Aurelia questioned.
Leopold frowned slightly, “Smart as he is, he's still just a kid at heart, not as perceptive as a grown-up might be." Aurelia fell silent, weighed down by her thoughts.
She didn't want Skyler to have a split personality and didn't want Geoffrey to be an alter.

The room grew still.
"Skyler's even started doubting himself, questioning if he has a split personality,” William chimed in, "He's resolved to understand what's happening.” "Does he have a plan?" Aurelia asked eagerly.
"Yes, William nodded, "Skyler said if there's an alter, hypnosis could help the host confront it. But it's risky. Waking up from hypnosis, he might not be the host back, and it could be the alter.” Aurelia paled slightly, "Then we shouldn't try it. If Skyler has a split personality and if Geoffrey wakes up instead..” Geoffrey could masquerade as Skyler and catch them off guard.
William said earnestly, "Skyler thinks if we had a top-notch hypnotist, someone who can handle group hypnosis, they could take us all into the subconscious to tackle the alter together.” Group hypnosis was something Aurelia had only heard about in TV shows and books. She glanced at Leopold.
"Is there really a hypnotist that powerful?"
