"[re you begging for an early grave? You're nothing but a lapdog for Leopold and Aurelia. If | am exposed, you will ratout to
them. Do you think I'm an idiot? Your little parlor tricks might as well be child's play compared to my smarts, and I've got more
brains in my pinky than you do in your whole body.]
Skyler smirked, [You're bluffing.]
[Big brothers are always stronger than the little ones.]
[That's debatable, and you're no match for Leopold.]
That struck a nerve with Geoffrey.
[Bullcrap! How could | not measure up to him? That little runt isn't fit to tie my shoes. Just you wait, one of these days, he'll be six
feet under by my hand.]
Skyler was fuming. Geoffrey was the vilest creature on the face of the earth.
[I'll always stand by Leopold, and together, we're going to take you down.]

[You backstabbing mongrel, once I'm done with Leopold, you're next.]
[I'm not scared of you. We'll see who takes down who.]
Skyler put down the phone, refusing to let Geoffrey ruin the festive spirit.
Meanwhile, on a distant Caribbean island, it was high noon.
Tanya sat on the beach, basking in the sun, bored out of her mind.cHere, it was an endless summer with no other seasons.
If her calculations were correct, back in Elysium, they would be celebrating the festival right now.
Her boat was still under construction, a complex project. If the vessel wasn't seaworthy, she'd find herself sleeping with the fishes.
The servant arrived, beckoning her to lunch.
Today's meal was lavish. Could these folks actually know that today was a festival in Veritalia?
She turned her attention to the doctor, the only person she could communicate with.
"Why is today's lunch so extravagant?"
"A festival is celebrated today in Veritalia, so we made a turkey, hoping you'd enjoy them," the doctor explained.
Tanya narrowed her eyes, her gaze subtle yet profound, "How did you know that?"
"There's a Veritalian calendar in my room," the doctor replied.
So that was it.
"And here | thought you might be in touch with the outside world," Tanya probed intentionally.
"Ma'am, as I've said before, we're all refugees displaced by war. This is our sanctuary. We have no desire to contact the outside
world, nor will we. That would only draw pirates or other marauders. We could lose our hor worse, our lives."
Tanya rolled her eyes. They didn't want to leave, but she did. She dreamt of it every day.
"If you find a way out, | could ensure a better life for you all."
"We don't want to leave. We live comfortably in a grand estate, without a care in the world. It's perfect,” the doctor stated, then
spoke a few words in their native tongue to the servants, who all nodded in agreement. They were content here, planning to spend

Tanya was speechless. What kind of people were these? Absolutely infuriating.
"So, you never contact the outside world? Not even Leopold?"
"Who is Leopold?" the doctor asked, puzzled.
"Isn't he your boss?" Tanya asked tentatively.
"We have no boss," the doctor shook his head.
If Tanya believed him, she'd be a fool. She asked, "Then where do all these supplies, food, and medicine cfrom? What happens
when they expire? Who brings the new shipments?"
"You needn't worry. The medicine we have can last five years, and we have a lab here to manufacture santibiotics. It's just us
few here, and we won't catch any infectious diseases as long as we prevent bacterial infections."
Tanya felt like she was at her wit's end.
"The days ahead are long. What if someone falls seriously ill?"
