Holden settled into his chair, "Bri, about the soirée this afternoon, you're going with Eltham, right?"
"Yes."
"This soirée is hosted by the royal family, and it's going to be a gathering of the who's who. Be careful, okay?" Holden was worried
that Brittany might slip up or get cornered by someone.
"I know."
Brittany had attended dozens of such dinners, big and small, and was quite adept at navigating them.
Holden left it at that.
After breakfast, Brittany dropped Daniel off at school. Just before he got out of the car, Daniel, clutching his backpack, asked,
"Mom, are you going to get engaged to someone else?"
What would happen to Dad then?
Was life imitating a soap opera, with the original partner bing 'the other woman'?
Brittany hadn't expected Daniel to ask about this and softened her voice, "It looks like an engagement might be on the cards."
She paused for a moment, "But the person | love is only your dad."

Daniel immediately seemed much brighter, "Mom, dad wille back."
Brittany laughed softly, watching her son enter the school gates.
After a while, Brittany drove to the Lte Conglomerate.
Work was hectic, and Brittany barely had tto breathe, let alone eat lunch, which her secretary had to bring to her.
She multitasked through lunch and a video conference, barely touching her food, which had gone cold.
After quickly finishing what she could of her meal and wrapping up the remaining work, she stood up.
"Ms. Lte, where to?" her secretary asked upon seeing her emerge.
"I have a dinner to attend tonight. If there's anything important, leave a message."
"Will do."
"Do you needto arrange an outfit?"
"No, thanks."
Brittany drove back to the Lte Mansion, where a black stretch Lincoln was parked out front. Inside was Eltham.
Brittany was a bit displeased to see Eltham hade personally but hid it quickly.
She approached the vehicle, "Sorry, | was held up by work this afternoon."
"No worries." Eltham was well aware of how busy Brittany was. Yuri had entrusted her with the core departments of the Lte
Conglomerate, increasing her workload exponentially.
Eltham stepped out, "Let's go inside. I'll wait for you."
Brittany nodded.
As they entered, the butler, seeing Eltham, quickly brewed a pot of hot tea, "Your Highness, please enjoy."
Eltham, a true Craneville native, wasn't much of a tea person.
Brittany noticed this and asked the butler to make him a coffee instead, then went upstairs.
Eltham had brought a stylist and a makeup artist.
Brittany washed away the day's fatigue and sat before the vanity, letting the makeup artist do her magic.
About an hour later, Eltham heard footsteps.
He looked up just in tto see Brittany emerging around the corner.

She was wearing a sapphire blue satin gown that made her skin look even more luminous and delicate. The strapless design
showcased her collarbones, captivating any onlooker.
Brittany was slender but curvaceous.
Especially her near-perfect waist-to-hip ratio, accentuated by the mermaid cut of her dress, added an extra layer of allure.
Eltham stood up, his eyes filled with admiration, "You look stunning."
Brittany's beauty was innate, something not easily rivaled.
Eltham offered his arm.
Brittany took a deep breath and linked her arm with his, ready to leave.
The dinner was magnificent and formal.
Even before the main figures had arrived, the venue was filled with virtually all of Craneville's elite.
"I heard even the queen is attending this dinner. Could it be to announce a union with the Lte family?"
"Most likely. Brittany is so lucky. First, marrying Isaac, and now catching the royal family's eye."
"Would you keep it down? Do you really think being chosen by the royal family is all that great? Once she marries into royalty,
Brittany will have to say goodbye to the Lte Conglomerate. Do you think the queen would allow her to continue working?"
