Chapter 492 Getting Closer

As the door was about to close, Rosie held the small bell and shook it without hesitation.

Elias suddenly stopped, experiencing dizziness as the door ahead blurred into multiple

images.

He vigorously shook his head, attempting to clear his mind, but it only intensified his

disorientation.

Persistently, the sound of the bell echoed in his ears, at a time near and far, as though

beckoning his thoughts.

Elias slowly turned around and saw Rosie sitting innocently, seemingly unaware of

anything.

“Eli, what’s wrong with you?” Rosie inquired.

“Did you… hear the bell ring?” he asked.

Rosie shook her head. “No, I don’t hear anything. Eli, are you experiencing auditory

hallucinations?”

Elias fell silent, momentarily forgetting his intentions. He looked at the door before him

and asked, “What was I about to do?”

“Oh, Eli, you mentioned wanting to urge the waiter to take our order. Don’t worry, they’ll

be here soon. I’m not hungry. We can wait,” Rosie reassured him.

He completely forgot his intentions and returned to his seat, but something still felt amiss.

“Eli, are you okay?” She frowned and asked.

Elias replied indifferently, “Nothing, but I feel like there’s something else I need to do.”

The sound of a bell ringing continued echoing in his ears, near and far, as if only he could

hear it.

“It’s okay. We can think about it while we eat. I’ll help you figure it out, Rosie reassured

a smile

Elias didn’t say anything else. When the waiter came with the menu, he absentmindedly

ordered a few dishes and handed the menu to Rosie.

He felt like he had forgotten something, but he couldn’t recall it

Meanwhile, outside the Dream Nightclub, the bodyguard anxiously awaited Elias‘ arrival,

expecting they would enter together. However, there was still no sign of him after a two–

hour

wait.

One of them questioned, “What’s happening with Mr. Winters? Wasn’t he supposed to join

us. immediately? Why hasn’t he shown up yet?”

Another bodyguard suggested, “Maybe something delayed him? Should we give him a

call?”

“I’d rather not. Mr. Winters has been in a bad mood lately. I’d rather not risk getting

scolded.” A third bodyguard hesitated.

So, they continued to wait in uncertainty, unsure of when Elias would arrive.

After dinner, the driver chauffeured Rosie back to the Momsey Residence. However, Rosie

didn’t wish to return home.

“Eli, would you mind going for a walk with me? There are so many beautiful flowers

blooming near my house,” she requested.

Elias Winters contemplated refusing, but his thoughts led him to reply, “Sure, it’s your

call.”

Thus, the two of them strolled around the Momsey Residence, with only the sound of their

footsteps breaking the silence. The surroundings exuded tranquility, and the fragrance of

flowers permeated the air.

“Eli, you’ve lost weight recently. You should eat more. Perhaps I can make some soup for

you someday…” Rosie began, but before she could finish, Elias gradually halted as if he

vaguely recollected his earlier intentions in the private room.

Suddenly, Elias turned and briskly walked toward where the driver had parked.

Rosie watched his hurried steps and exclaimed, “Eli, where are you going?”

“Back home! I have something to attend to. I need to leave now!” Without even glancing

back, he hopped into the driver’s car.

In the blink of an eye, the car sped away, leaving Rosie fuming and stomping her feet in

frustration.

Outside the Dream Nightclub.

The car gradually came to a stop, and Elias exited as the bodyguards swiftly approached

“Mr. Winters, you’ve finally arrived. We’ve been waiting here for two hours, and we were

starting to think you wouldn’t come,” one of the bodyguards expressed.

“I forgot. Couldn’t you have called or reminded me?” Elias retorted. His tone was icy as he

strode directly toward the club’s entrance.

The bodyguards exchanged puzzled and somewhat hurt glances. After all, Mr. Winters had

promised to come right after the phone call, so how could he forget? Yet, none of them

dared to question Elias.

Once inside the club, Elias turned to the bodyguards and demanded, “Where is she?”

“Well… Two hours ago, they reported seeing a woman who resembled Madam in the

Dream Building. It’s been two hours, so she may have already left,” one of the bodyguards

explained. cautiously.

Elias suddenly became furious. He closed his eyes briefly and said, “Then, go find her!

Bring the person in charge here!”

Initially, he hadn’t suspected that Amanda would be there when he passed by this place.

Het hadn’t expected a kidnapping incident in such an upscale location.

After a brief wait, the club’s manager approached. When he spotted Elias, he nodded and

smiled obsequiously. “Mr. Winters, what brings you here today? Are you here for some

leisure or…”

“Looking for someone.” Elias retrieved his phone, his expression devoid of emotion, and

showed the manager a photo of Amanda, “Have you seen this woman?”

The manager glanced at the woman in the photo and was surprised. Isn’t she one of the

recent hustlers? Could she be related to Mr. Winters?

The manager hesitated briefly, then forced a fake smile and replied, “I haven’t seen her,

and we have a constant influx of visitors here daily. It’s challenging to remember them all.

Let met ask the staff; perhaps they might recall something.”

With that, the manager turned and left.

At that very moment, Amanda and Moon hid in the restroom, quietly discussing their next

move.

They knew they couldn’t escape tonight and had to accompany those men. However,

Amanda was determined not to participate in their illicit activities. They needed to find a

way to protect themselves.

“What should we do? It’s come to this point, and there’s no way we can escape,” Moon

lamented.

She was terrified and clung to the hope that Amanda could somehow rescue them from

the impending fate that awaited them in those men’s beds. With time running out, they

needed an escape plan.

“Stop crying,” Amanda whispered urgently. “When the time comes, tell that man you want

to be with me. No matter what, we have to stick together.”

“Huh? Is that okay?” Moon looked skeptical, uncertainty in her eyes.

Amanda gently patted her shoulder and reassured her, “If you trust me, do as I say.

There’s simply no way out at this point.”

“Okay…”

“What are you two doing in there? Come out immediately! I’m getting impatient. There’s

still a lot of work left to be done!” A gruff male voice boomed from outside the restroom,

shattering the brief moment of respite.
