“What did you just say?! Something happened to my father?! Really?!”
Hector, fixated on the idea of his father’s demise, heard those words in a daze. His whole being was overwhelmed
with uncontrollable excitement. When he responded, his emotions got the best of him.
Ricardo, on the other end of the line, couldn’t help but ask with some skepticism, “Hector, are you alright? Your
father is in trouble. Why do you seem so pleased?”
At this moment, Hector snapped out of it, realizing he was indeed overly excited. Swiftly, he corrected himself,
saying, “I didn’t wake up entirely. I dreamt just now that the Americans released my father, and I was ecstatic…”
Then, he quickly inquired, “Uncle Ricardo, you said something happened to my father. What’s going on?”
Ricardo swiftly responded, “I sent you a video. Please take a look!”
Hector promptly ended the call. After watching the video, where his father disclosed his near-death encounter, he
almost jumped out of his skin with fear.
He had assumed Joseph hadn’t made a move yet, only to discover that Joseph had acted and failed. Thankfully, his
father sought his help in the video, indicating he wasn’t aware of his son’s intentions to harm him, which offered
Hector a shred of relief. It appeared that despite Joseph’s failure, at least he hadn’t betrayed him.
But what should Hector do now?
Continue seeking an opportunity to eliminate his father?
Or pretend he had just learned about all of this?
When Hector was at a loss, his military advisor and most trusted confidant called him.
As soon as the call connected, Hector asked, “Jose, have you seen the video?!”
Jose on the other end quickly replied, “Boss, I just watched it and immediately called you. Have you seen it too?”
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt“I have,” Hector replied anxiously. “What should I do now? Should I continue with the plan to eliminate the old man,
or should I play ignorant until the end?”
Jose asked, “Boss, setting aside the risks, which option do you prefer?”
Hector replied without hesitation, “I’d prefer to eliminate the old man, or it’ll always be a huge problem! What if
one day he finds out the truth, or worse, the Americans run out of options, and he’s released?”
Then, he tentatively suggested, “When the old man posted this video, he put the blame on Rothschild. If I execute
this cleanly, I might be able to resolve this once and for all, don’t you think?”
Jose considered for a moment and said, “Boss, theoretically, that’s a solid approach. But have you considered that
the Rothschild family might be willing to shoulder the blame? If they find out it’s you, they won’t just expose the
truth, they’ll lobby the US government against you. At that point, other Sanchez family members will resent you,
and the US might facilitate your father’s takeover of your position. You could end up in a US jail.”
Then, Jose added, “Boss, don’t forget, your father appealed for your help in the video. It’s seen by everyone. If
anything happens to him, doesn’t it imply that you can’t even protect your own father?”
“Damn it!” Hector’s expression shifted, speaking softly, “What should I do then?”
Jose pondered before saying, “Boss, I think the only recourse now is to publicly protest to the Rothschild family.
First, act as a concerned son when your father’s life is at risk, then deliver harsh words. Promise swift retaliation if
anything happens to him. Given the Rothschild family’s current image, this is the perfect time to add insult to injury.
If the public perceives them as dirty, they’ll shoulder the blame!”
Additionally, Jose added, “As for your fear of the Rothschild family uncovering the truth, there’s no need to worry.
We simply eliminate the messenger and present evidence of Joseph’s recruitment. This breaks the chain. Even if
they find a lead from inside the prison, it won’t hold. Without evidence, even if they claim you’re responsible, we
can refute it as slander. Our concern shouldn’t be what’s said but what people believe.”
Hector pondered and asked, “So according to your advice, I can’t eliminate the old man?”
“Yes,” Jose explained, “In this situation, whether or not to eliminate him isn’t the pivotal question. Keeping him alive
could benefit us all. Killing him would tarnish your reputation, discredit the Rothschilds, and implicate the US
government. If everyone remains level-headed, the public will eventually forget about this incident. However, if
someone kills him, both parties will scramble to clear their names, putting us in a tighter spot.”
Hector sighed deeply, clenching his teeth. “This seems to be our only option now. I hope the Americans won’t
release or use my father against me.”
Jose responded, “The Rothschilds are dealing with a lot themselves. Even Howard is treading carefully. They won’t
cause any trouble soon.”
Soon, on behalf of the entire Sanchez family, Hector publicly protested to the US government and the Rothschild
family through a video.
In the video, he not only angrily condemned the Rothschild family but also issued severe warnings, promising
retaliation if anything happened to his father.
Online, criticism and insults toward the Rothschild family surged to unprecedented heights.
The Rothschilds remained silent, as Howard became the primary target of public outrage. Speaking up now would
only further provoke the public.
They awaited the investigation’s outcome before devising any plans.

As the Sanchez and Rothschild families were embroiled in their conflict, Brooklyn Prison underwent a significant
change.

The FBI temporarily took control of the federal prison. All previous guards and managers were suspended pending
investigation.
Jagoan, in his cell, heard the guards being replaced one by one by the FBI. Turning to Gustavo, he advised,
“Gustavo, if the FBI arrives, they might move you to solitary confinement. Just comply with them.”
Gustavo hastily inquired, “Mr. Jagoan, will they keep me in solitary?”
Jagoan smiled, saying, “If it ensures your safety, solitary confinement isn’t a bad choice.”
Gustavo, looking somber, remarked, “Solitary confinement is just a dark, small room. Prolonged stay could lead to
depression…”
Jagoan retorted, “Is it better to be depressed or dead?”
Gustavo admitted helplessly, “Being alive is undoubtedly better…”
Jagoan nodded, stating, “When you posted that video, you relinquished your privileges in this prison. But by doing
so, you ensure your son and the Rothschilds remain connected to you. It’ll also prompt the US government to
prioritize your safety. Although you’ve lost your privileges, you’re still alive. Isn’t that the best outcome?”
Gustavo was speechless.
What Jagoan said held truth. Living is preferable. Who would willingly choose death?
He asked Jagoan, “What if they investigate what happened during the day? Should I tell them about you?”
Jagoan casually replied, “It’s almost dawn now. Investigations won’t happen immediately. I’ll be gone by dawn.
Whatever they investigate later has nothing to do with me. I have nothing to offer for their investigation. I didn’t
grant you privileges, plan to kill you, or use you to control Mexico. I’m just an old friend of Joseph’s father, who
spoke kindly at a critical moment and saved your life.”
