Chapter 894

The caregiver entered the room with breakfast.

She saw two women crying with their heads buried in their hands.

She stood at the doonway for a while.

She realized that this emotional display might not end anytime soon.

So, she cleared her throat and let out a couple of awkward coughs.

Both Larissa and Wendy valued their images very much.

They didn’t mind crying when they were alone.

But things charged when there was an outsider,

Instantly, they ceased crying and turned away.

They used the backs of their hands to wipe away the tears.

The caregiver was good at gauging situations and respecting boundaries.

She understood their concem for appearances.

She chose to act as if she hadn’t witnessed the scene. She did not glance in their direction after entering.

“I’ve brought breakfast for you.”

She placed the paper bags on the mobile table located at the foot of the bed.

She asked Wendy. “Do you need me helping with your moming routine?”

Wendy waved her hand. “No need. You can go ahead and leave.”

The caregiver acknowledged her request. She exited the room.

Wendy threw back the covers. She wanted to get out of bed. Without hesitation, Larissa jumped off the folding bed

and rushed over to

assist her.

Wendy shot her a stern look. “Tm not that weak, you know.”

After the procedure for miscarriages, most women could already be up and walking around the same day.

Wendy’s prolonged stay in the hospital bed was a result of her taking a hard fall on her failbone yesterday–not to

ment on the emotional

toll of losing her baby.

Regardless, she had still undergone a surgical procedure. So, the pain and discomfort hadn’t dissipated quite so

quickly.

Larissa saw Wendy’s grimace of pain. Despite Wendy’s reluctance, she firmly gripped Wendy’s arm, encouraging

her to lean on her for

“Alright strong woman. No need to tough it out.”

Wendy responded with a cold huff but did not say anything else.

After their tearful reconciliation and mutual confession, their relationship appeared to relum to its previous

harmony.

However, in Larissa’s heart, there was still a divide between them–Wendy’s unborn chiki.

Yet, they both tacitly avoided bringing it up. It was as if the incident had never occurred.

Kevan prepared their lunch at home and delivered it to them.

Wendy tell extremely uneasy seeing Kevan again.

Rather, every time she looked at his face, she couldn’t help but recall how cold and ruthless he had been while

holding his gun.

She was relieved that she realized her mistake–and that she hadn’t given him the opportunity to shoot her.

Kevan discreetly observed Larissa and Wendy’s interactions.

They appeared to be much more amicable than he had anticipated. He had heard about the morning incident from

the caretaker. But he hadn’t expected their relationship to change so quickly.

Once again, he couldn’t help but be amazed at the intricacies of women’s friendships. He found himself unable to

fully understand it.

For their meal, Kevan had prepared a postpartum confinement dish he found online.

Wendy casually commented, “It’s a pity you didn’t take care of Lari during her postpartum period.”

His thoughts stirred, but he maintained a facade of composure. He raised his eyebrow. “Oh?”

Larissa quickly placed a large piece of chicken into Wendy’s bowl. She gestured for Wendy to keep quiet. “Eat more,

Wendy.”
