Wendy hurried away before Kevan had the chance to awaken Larissa. She ran all the way to the elevator.
In fact, she did have an appointment with the doctor for a checkup. Still, that was scheduled in the afternoon.
She went out without Larissa’s and Kevan’s knowledge for another important maller.

Wendy thought that Edmund fought back during the process of being arrested. So, it wasn’t surprising that he
sustained some injuries.
When she saw his body wrapped in bandages from head to toe, it took a while for her to recover from the shock.
Edmund’s current condition did not pose a risk to anyone. The officer gave them some privacy and stood guard
outside.
Wendy was unable to accept that Edmund was severely injured. She inched to the side of his bed.
Her eyes were wide and filled with tears.

her, she was still upset.
Edmund closed his eyes for a moment. As it gathering the last ounce of his strength, he squeezed out an apology,

Larissa and Kevan seemed to have kept some of the truth from Wendy. It wasn’t hard to guess why.
A cunning look appeared in Edmund’s eyes before he put on an expression of grief.
He lowered his gaze and sighed.
“Unfortunately, even if you drop the case, those two friends of yours won’t let me off the hook.”
He was obviously referring to Larissa and Kevan, Wendy couldn’t think of anyone else.
