Chapter 568

The soft layers of pastry enveloped in dense cream and the langy mango chunks slid across her tongue. The

delicate texture and multiple layers of sweetness made Larissa sigh in delight.

Since she was forced to eat nothing but bland food and supplements for the last few days, Larissa was moved to

the point of tears at this moment.

If she wasn’t bound to the bed, she would have hugged Kevan out of sheer gratitude, exclaiming, “You’re my

savior!”

Although the satisfied expression on Larissa’s face was evident, the rest of the people in the ward felt different

emotions that were evoked by her joy.

The smile on Kevan’s lace widened and he stared at Larissa with a look of londness and love, almost overflowing

with affection.

Conversely, a story expression appeared on Gary’s face. He pursed his lips and muttered with disapproval. “You

shouldn’t eat this much junk food in the future.”

Larissa s mpy acted as she didn’t hear what he said.

It was Kevan who responded politely. “Okay, Uncle Gary.”

Previously when they met, he addressed Gary by Mr. Logan, and yet this time he switched to addressing him as

Uncle Gary.

Gary gritted his teeth, displeased with Kevan’s impudence and overfamiliarity. “Mr. Rogers, we are not that close to

be addressing each other on a first-name basis.”

Caught off guard by Gary’s remark, the fork in Kevan’s hand froze in mid-air.

Larissa could only stare helplessly at the cake. She stretched her neck as far as she could to reach the elusive bite

of cake, but she was

unable to move any closer.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Logan,” Kevan hung his head and apologized sincerely to Gary.

He could vaguely guess the reason why Gary bore so much hostility toward him. Kevan didn’t dare to act recklessly,

not because Gary was the CEO of Blue Star Shipping, but because he was Larissa’s biological father.

Kevan could see that Gary genuinely cared for Larissa, so he wanted to show utmost respect to him.

Gary snorted and turned to Larissa, asking her in earnest. “Lari, do you want anything else to eat? I will go and get

it for you.”

“There’s no need.” Larissa shook her head and looked at Kevan again. Unable to resist the sweetness of the mango

mille crepe, she instinctively licked her lips.

The resentment in Gary’s heart grew stronger and he secretly made up his mind to poach the pastry chef from that

bakery later.

He would see how that ignorant boy would try to win the heart of his precious daughter again!

Larissa accidentally smeared some cream at the comer of her mouth. When Kevan noticed it, his eyes darkened

with a desire to pull her into his embrace.

He wished to lick the cream from her mouth little by little and savor the sweetness of her lips-but doing that here

was out of the question.

He put down the plastic fork in his hand and wiped the corner of her mouth with his finger, removing the cream

from her lips.

Giving Larissa a meaningful smile, he remarked. “Why are you so careless?”

Although the words sounded like he was teasing her, Kevan’s voice was gentle, laced with an underlying lendemess

to his tone.

Larissa’s face flushed crimson. It was not only because of her embarrassment but also because she fell extremely

shy at Kevan’s intimate

actions.

Dylan and Lewis simply averted their eyes from the disconcerting scene. Out of sight, cul of mind.

On the other hand, Gary was trembling with rage.

Old Kevan think that he was a pushover?

… . ……… …. .. .. …

He leaned across the hospital bed and forcibly took the plate of cake from Kevan’s hard.

“Don’t trouble yourself Mr. Rogers. I will feed Lar mysell!” Gary said through gritted teeth, suppressing his anger.

nonchalant smile on his face to mask his disappointment. “Til go and wash my hands.”

Waving his fingers coated in cream, he get up and walked to the restroom.

Once insice, he locked the door behind him. The restroom was quite cramped and there was a mirror above the

sink, facing the door.
