Chapter 626 A Divorce

A misunderstanding? Don't tell me he has to do this because of the mission. This is unacceptable! Just

unacceptable!

Artemis' act of betrayal kept racing through Bailey's mind, cutting through her heart like a knife.

She was not someone who could tolerate an affair. She was not that forgiving regarding relationships and would

never condone any disloyalty.

“Zeke, he might have really lost his memories, or else he wouldn't have allowed that woman to get so close to him.

We all saw that he was the one who threw her on the bed and pinned her down. He... did it willingly.”

Bailey turned pale and started shaking as she spoke.

It did not matter to her if Artemis faked his memory loss—what she saw broke her.

Seeing this, Raiden patted Bailey on the shoulder, trying to comfort her.

Usually, he would seize every opportunity to ridicule Artemis, but he did not this time because he saw how hurt

Bailey was.

Raiden loved her and did not want her to be heartbroken, so much so that he was willing to put aside his prejudice

against that man.

“The Artemis I know is not someone who would go for a woman like that, so you should trust him. If you really love

him that much, you should give him absolute trust.”

Struck by his words, she turned stiffly and looked at him.

She did not cry—she had learned to stay strong after going through so much.

After a brief silence, she said with a bitter smile, “What has happened has already happened, so there's no point

talking about it anymore. Don't worry. I'm not that weak. I won't kill myself because of something like this.”

With that said, Bailey picked up her phone and walked toward the door.

Worried, Zeke and Raiden followed after her, but Bailey shouted without even turning back or stopping, “Leave me

alone! I need some time. I'll be taking a walk around the artificial lake and won't do anything stupid.”

Then, she disappeared behind the door.

“Are you sure we can leave her alone? She looks devastated,” Raiden asked, looking at Zeke.

“There's nothing we can do. She wants to be alone right now, so just let her be,” Zeke answered, shaking his head.

Over in a guest room at Tarragon, Yvette was sitting on the couch, using a unique device to make a phone call.

When the call got through, she stated immediately, “I'm positive Artemis has lost his memory. What is our next

step? How are we getting rid of Bailey?”

An answer came from the other end in the form of a disguised male voice, but the real identity and gender of the

speaker remained unknown.

“We can proceed to our next step now that you've confirmed he has forgotten everything. I doubt luck will be on

Bailey's side this time around. Our chance will come. Your father might have died, but his connections are still

available. It's time you tap into those resources to eliminate Bailey for good. I know you won't stop until she's

gone.”

Yvette frowned at the suggestion.

Use those connections? That's my insurance for when anything happens to me. If I lose that, then that will be the

end for me. I don't have any other strong backing.

Sensing her reluctance, the voice said again, “Just to remind you, Your Royal Highness, we're trying to make you the

matriarch here. You can't just sit idly here without doing anything. I don't suppose you expect me to be doing

everything for you. Well, it's not like I have a problem with that. It's just that there are things beyond my

capabilities.”

Yvette clenched her phone as she listened to the other party.

That's right. Becoming the matriarch is my goal. I should be doing something to reach that goal.

After a brief silence, Yvette agreed, “All right. I'll seek their help, but you'll have to make sure you kill her.”

“Rest assured that this will happen. This is the sole purpose of our years of planning. As long as I get help from your

side, I can readily vanquish her.”

“Good.”

After the call ended, Yvette tightened her grip on the communication device.

Great achievement is born of great sacrifice. I have to do this.

With that thought, she searched for a code and drafted a message before sending it out.

Meanwhile, Artemis watched the night sky from the master bedroom as he leaned against the floor-to-ceiling

window.

His eyes turned mysteriously dark as he swirled the glass of red wine in his hand.

Just then, Holden barged into the room.

“Yvette asked her men to send a video she took to Bailey!”

Artemis was stunned. He had a bad feeling about it.

A video? Don't tell me it's a video of us in bed. Sh*t! I was too focused on getting rid of her that I overlooked her

little trick. She must have planted a camera in her coat, positioning it in the bed's direction. Screw her! Bailey must

be so upset to see that. I need to see her now.

With that thought, Artemis hurriedly headed for the door, but Holden held him back by his shoulder and reminded

him, “Calm down. Leaving this place to see her now will only ruin our plan. Don't you want to know who's behind all

this? Haven't you been waiting to destroy them all in one go once Yvette gathered her men? If that's what you

want, be patient. It's painful, but you have to do it.”

After standing there for what felt like forever, trying to grapple with the severity of the situation, he finally relented.

“Fine. She must be so miserable right now, but that will only put things to our advantage. It'll make the whole thing

more believable to them. Once they lower their guards, I'll destroy them all in one fell swoop.”

Since Artemis had come to terms with the situation, Holden let go of him and smiled. “Actually, you don't have to

worry about her misunderstanding you. Ms. Bailey is a smart and discerning woman. She's not one to be bothered

by something like this.”

Artemis held his forehead and sighed. “I hope so. How are things with Yvette now? Did she contact anyone?”

“I was just about to tell you—she had just contacted those people outside with the special communication channel

her father left behind. We couldn't identify the person she called, nor could we listen in to the conversation, but if

she calls that person again, we can decode what they said with radio waves.”

Nodding, Artemis replied, “Ramp up our operation. I want answers in ten days.”

“Of course.”

On the other end, Bailey had just entered a ward at the medical base when she saw Victoria reading through a

divorce agreement.

“What's all this, Vicky? Are you planning to divorce Lionel?” she asked, surprised.
