around and reaching out his hand to Alexander, saying, “Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Alexander looked up and smiled slightly. “Just move aside a bit.”
Edward nodded and moved to the side while Alexander leaped to join Edward quickly. The duo closed
the ventilation duct from the inside, leaving no trace of their presence. It was as if they had never been
there.
Edward said lowly, “It’s dirtier and harder here but safer.”
“That’s fine. No need for small talk. Is this your first day meeting me?” Alexander questioned in a deep
voice. “Start climbing.”
Edward nodded and turned around to lead the way by climbing. They could only climb forward in this
ventilation duct, but Alexander felt it was not the same duct as before. After all, there was no scent of
anesthetics, not even a trace.
