Lizetta had long suspected that her child wasn't Rem's, and it definitely wasn't a DNA test on her unborn baby
that would confirm this.
Just a couple of days ago, she had coerced Edith into letting her undergo an amniocentesis, something she had
been keeping a close eye on.
Unexpectedly, Rem arrived and straight-up destroyed Lizetta's amniotic fluid sample.
Trouble had struck Edith's house, and even Hanna found herself under Rem's watchful eye.
Evelina had been tormented by nightmares all night, but in the morning, Rem still hadn't shown up at her door.
Evelina figured Edith must know that if she revealed her involvement, her punishment would only be more
severe, hence why she wasn't dragged into it. But what was Lizetta doing here for a paternity test?
Could it be that the baby in Lizetta's belly really wasn't Rem's? Was Lizetta here to secretly get a paternity test
done for smystery man?
The thought made Evelina's blood boil.
She hurriedly urged April, "April, you've got to find out what she's here for!"
Lizetta approached the service desk and easily got her hands on the paternity test report.
She didn't immediately open it to read the results but clutched the envelope as she left.
Just as she had left, April quickly made her way to the desk.

Once Lizetta was in the car and it started moving, she fumbled with the envelope, unsure of what result she
hoped to see.
Taking a deep breath, she opened it.
Inside were two test results, one for Evelina and Elara, and one for herself and Elara.
Yet, when Lizetta saw the final comparison results, she was shocked and then furrowed her brow in confusion.
How could this be? The paternity test showed that Evelina and Elara were indeed mother and daughter, while
she and Elara had no biological relation whatsoever.
Could she have been overthinking things?
In another car, Evelina's face turned pale when April relayed what she had found out.
"You're saying she was getting a paternity test done for who and who?"
April looked at her curiously, then repeated, "Lizetta was indeed comparing the DNA between you and Mrs.
Hawthorne, and also between her and Mrs. Hawthorne. Is there a problem with that?" Evelina quickly covered
her emotions and scoffed.
"Of course, there's no problem! I look so much like my parents, and I'm the true Hawthorne heiress. What could
possibly be wrong?
Ha, | never imagined Lizetta, after all these years, still dreams of being the true heiress, trying to replace me?
How ludicrous!"
Seeing Evelina so sure of herself, April nodded, "Well, that's good then."
But she couldn't help thinking how absurd Evelina's statement was.
The Hawthorne family was on the brink of bankruptcy, so it made no sense for Lizetta to even think about
replacing Evelina.
Lizetta was Rem's wife, who carried the Dashiell family's precious grandchild, and who was also taken in as
Master Dories's apprentice; any casual online alias of hers gathered millions of fans, and she had even joined the
country's leading dance troupe.
Compared to that, Evelina was truly down and out.
A golden opportunity, wasted.
April was full of regrets for following Evelina, but for now, she had no better place or choice.
As April mulled over these things, Evelina had her hands clenched tight around her purse strap, and her eyes
were flickering with desperation and panic.
Evelina hadn't expected Lizetta to start doubting her own background.
Fortunately, Lizetta was only suspecting her of being the true Hawthorne heiress, barking up the wrong tree.
Otherwise, Lizetta would have surely discovered the true issue with her background by now.
This couldn't continue!

Since Lizetta had begun to harbor doubts, there was no guarantee she wouldn't discover the real problem next
time.
Evelina dug her nails into her purse strap, thinking she needed to find a way to preemptively defend and stop
any further investigations.
Just then, Evelina's phone rang, which interrupted her thoughts.
It was Elara calling.
As Evelina picked up, she was immediately greeted by Elara's crying and the chaotic background noise.
"Evelina, you need to chome! There's been an accident."
"Mom? What happened, tell me, mom?"
"That shouldn't be moved! Don't touch, ah!"
The call was filled with the sound of something crashing down before it abruptly cut off.
Evelina, looking frantic, urged April, "April, drivehnow."
Rushing back to the Hawthorne estate, Evelina found the place in complete disarray.
People were moving in and out, hauling things away. The maid, Nora, was walking out with a suitcase and two
bags in her arm.
Evelina recognized one of the bags as one she had just bought last month. She rushed forward and grabbed
Nora.
