Screwing Him Over "Is everything okay?" Hera asked Christina worriedly as they cleared up the table together after dinner. Bryce was somewhere around the house with Max and Christina had offered to help Hera out even though Hera had told her not to worry about it. "You've been awfully quiet ever since we sat down for dinner and it's crazy because you are never quiet Christina. You love to chat and talk about a lot of things. Are you okay? Is something bothering you?" Hera pressed on while Christina only managed a smile. "Of course, sis. Everything is okay." She beamed in reply. "I just wasn't feeling chatty during dinner and besides, you used to scoldwhenever i talk during meals so what changed so suddenly?" "I know." Hera breathed out. "I just want you to feel comfortable here so i don't mind if you're chatty. I know that it wasn't easy coming all the way here and i just want you to settle in nicely." "I am settling in nicely." Christina assured her sister. She definitely wasn't moody because of dinner or coming here. She was really looking forward to coming here until he showed up. The fact that Max was here just didn't sit well with her and with good reasons too. "Um, Hera can i ask you something?" Christina began and Hera tilted her head slowly to give her attention.
"Of course, go ahead." "How well do you know Max? I mean Bryce's friend? He seems to be really close to you and you practically called him family during dinner." Christina went on to ask.
"Because he's family. Max is very nice and kind too. He takes care ofand is like a brother to Bryce. He makes sure that I'm okay and always does his best to look out for me. I've never encountered any problem with him around. He's a good person." Hera beamed at Christina before focusing on the dishes.
"So in other words, it means that you trust him, right?" Christina asked and Hera shook her head in agreement. "Yes i do and i can assure you that you're in safe hands too. He won't let anything happen to you Christina and that's certain." Hera stated firmly and Christina sighed inwardly. How does she tell Hera that the person she trusts so much is not really who he is when she has this kind of opinion and mindset about him? She doesn't even feel safe knowing that he's here.

Believe me, it was also hard forat first but i promise that you'll get used to it with tand while you're here, you don't have to worry about anything. All you have to do is focus on your studies and have fun doing the things that you want to do. You know that I'll always be rooting for you right?" "Of course i know that. You honestly don't know how happy i am to be here." Christina blurted out and she was right. She had been looking forward to this trip ever since Bryce made that promise to her back then.
That was the only thing that she kept on thinking about. It's just sad that someone like that mad had to ruin it out and what's even more crazier is the fact that she can't stop thinking about it and what he had said.
"When Bryce offered to cover everything about my college process, i felt like i could burst. I promised myself to make the both of you proud. Aside the sisters at the convent, both of you are like my very own parents, my own family and I'm grateful to both of you, especially you Hera for looking out forall these years." She sniveled and Hera pulled her in for a hug.
"I'll always look out for you Christina and that's because i love you." Hera proclaimed as she smoothered her back affectionately.
"I love you too, Hera." "Great!" Hera beamed before pulling away. "How about we finish up here and you can tellabout everything back at home. I miss talking to you." "That'll be lovely." Christina's lips curled into a smile as they both rounded up the dishes. She didn't want to care about what had happened before. She was with her sister and now, she had to focus on that.
Bryce walked back to the pawith a bottle of wine on one hand and two glasses on the other. He had almost walked into Hera and Christina when they were having their little chat in the kitchen and had listened to a handful of their conversation.
Bryce felt good knowing that Christina considered him family. He had grown up without one but now he had everything. Life couldn't get any better that. With that thought in mind, he offered one of the glasses to Max who took it gratefully before pouring into his glass.
"Where's your head at? Why do you look disoriented?" Bryce asked when he noticed how zoned out Max had becespecially after dinner.
"Did you get into a fight with Patty back at home?" Bryce went on to ask but Max only rolled his eyes at him. "As if." Max answered before taking a sip of wine from his glass. "And why are you smiling?" Max eyed him curiously.
Bryce sighed. "I'm just happy that's all. Besides, you're yet to tellabout the visit. Did you go according to plan? Did you have a good time?" "Far from it. I'm just glad that I'm back home. It's more quiet over here." He answered, his eyes staring into nothingness. "Plus, i can fuck all the bitches i want over here. There's no variety of women back hyou know and there's not much to choose from." Bryce rolled his eyes at Max's outburst. "I told you already. No sex talk in my house. Hera does not approve and i don't want my sister in-law to get the wrong ideas." Max frowned at the mention of that woman's name. He hasn't been able to get her words out of his head. She had spoken to him as if he was a child. No one has ever spoken that way to him before, no one and it somehow hurt his pride.

"As long as possible. I want her to feel settled and comfortable enough with us here. She's my responsibility now." Bryce answered and
somehow the wine on Max tongue went sour. She'll be here for a. tO. which means that he'll be running into her quite often. Who cares about running into her? He hated her guts as much as she hated him so that's settled.
"Shoot!" Max groaned and glanced at his watch. "I have to get going. I have an appointment for tonight at the hotel." Bryce threw him a knowing look. "You're not going to stop this anytsoon, are you?"
"Not a chance. You should be happy buddy. I'm doing it for the both of us. We all can't be like Bryce Donovan who got married now, can we?" Max winked at him with a smirk before drowning all the contents from the glass. "Tell Hera i said goodnight." He blurted before heading out towards BUT
where his car was parked and a certain relief washed over him. He needed ssexual cleanse m especially after that woman had messed him up tonight and so help him that he gets it because somehow, she had managed to screw him over and he sure as hell didn't like it.
