Chapter 720

Noah clenched his fists. He, too, knew how powerful Undercity was. In the end, he pursed his lips and kept quiet.

Then, he abruptly bowed to Nicole. "Miss Anderson, thank you so much for this," he solemnly stated.

With cold eyes, she silently watched him straighten up and walk away.

When Noah was gone from view, Colton chuckled and patted her on the shoulder. "You can relax now, right?"

Her face clouded over. There was not a hint of joy to be found on her face, nor relief at resolving the situation.

Instead, worry was painted across her face.

The look on her face made him burst out chuckling, and he grabbed her hand. He knew what she was thinking.

"I know you are thinking about who wants to hurt you, but we can only take this one step at a time. We still have a

lot to resolve back home," he said.

At the thought of what was going on back home, she was reminded of the photo of her mother killing Ella in a car

accident.

Nicole clenched her fist and pondered for a moment. "I want to talk to Grandpa and explain things."

She thought of Benedict as her own grandfather, so she did not want something like this to destroy her relationship

with him.

Moreover, she believed that there was no way Madeline would do something like that.

They had spent years together, so she knew what kind of person Madeline was. Madeline was a meek woman who

went along with the flow. Otherwise, she would not have agreed to a divorce with William while receiving nothing.

"Okay." Colton nodded. Then, he pulled Nicole closer to him and wrapped his arms tightly around her. "No matter

what happens, I will be by your side. Do not worry."

Once the Clancies' murders were sorted, Nicole no longer had a reason to stay abroad. Hence, she flew back with

Colton.

As they were going home, he had someone inform Sasha of his departure. He even sent some men to protect her.

When Sasha found out about it, her entire body trembled from the might of her rage. She had used Undercity's

might just to be able to get an ounce of care from Colton. In fact, she had fallen from grace just for him.

Now, not only was her power taken away, the people she trusted had been sent to prison by Adam. Everyone who

followed her was wary, afraid that he would imprison them as well.

People who had spent a long time in Undercity led lives that could not hold up against investigations. The moment

they were imprisoned, they would be dead.

Her face was stark white as she rested in the hospital bed. Her plan had backfired on her.

What a joke!

Sasha let out a wordless screech and swept everything off the table, sending them crashing to the ground.

She had done so much, yet any result she received was merely created from her own delusions. Colton could not

even be bothered to spare her a glance.

Laughter echoed in the room as she hid her face in her hands. Her tears burned as they rolled down her cheeks.

She was not willing to give up, but what could she do?

When Alvin stepped into the room, he found Sasha crying and laughing like a crazy woman.

The wound on her shoulder had yet to fully close. After what she did, it had opened back up and was bleeding.

However, she dazedly sat there as if she felt no pain.

He waited until she calmed down a little before walking over to re-bandage her wound with practiced hands.

When she felt hands touching her shoulder, she turned to look at him with blank eyes. Her lips tilted upward in a

faintly mocking smile when she realized who he was. Her voice was hoarse when she spoke.

"I've lost, Alvin," she said. "In fact, it was an utter defeat. I am such a fool, am I not?"

Distress flashed in Alvin's eyes when he saw how she helplessly leaned against him. The emotion was soon

suppressed though, and his face was set in his usual calm face once more.

"You still stand a chance, Sasha," he said. "Colton now owes you a life debt. There is no way he can ignore you with

that hanging over him. The most important task at hand is to rest well and heal up. Think about how you can use

that debt as leverage when you are all better."
