Julian noticed Nicole's grimace, and he knew that she did not like him. Regardless, he decided to stay around and
leave when Colton arrived.
Colton was extremely anxious when he rushed over. He got out of the car and dashed to Nicole's villa immediately.
As soon as he entered, he saw her leaning on the couch with her head propped up. She looked weak with her pale
lips and complexion.
Colton inhaled sharply, looked at Julian, and asked, "What's going on?"
Julian shrugged. "I don't know. When we rushed in, Nicole had already subdued Pierre. I've taken him away, just in
case. Anyway, take care, Boss!"
After Julian finished speaking, he patted Colton's shoulder with a strange smile on his face. Nicole was really

After Julian left, Colton darted over to Nicole to check on her. She closed her eyes tightly, and her face remained
expressionless.
She was so tired that she couldn't even muster the energy to open her eyes.
He took a step forward, crouched in front of her, and asked gently, "Nicky, how are you feeling? Can you stand up?"
She desperately wanted to open her eyes, but she couldn't lift her eyelids at all, so she parted her lips weakly and
mumbled, "I-I'm fine. I was drugged, that's all—"
Her voice was getting softer by the second. Then, she stopped talking altogether. Her head tilted, and she passed
out.
A shocked Colton hurriedly carried her and rushed out. Julian hadn't gone far as he had just walked out of the house
when he saw Colton running out with Nicole in his arms.
"What's wrong?" Julian asked, "What happened to her?"
"Call Richard," Colton ordered anxiously.
"Richard? He has been stabbed, and I bet he just woke up," Julian muttered while shaking his head. Colton was
always so put together, but he utterly lost his brains when it came to Nicole.
Only then did he recall that Richard had gone abroad. So, he quickly thought of a second option and instructed,
"Harvey! Call him, then."
Julian knew Colton's contacts like the back of his hand. So, when he heard the mention of Harvey's name, he hastily
replied, "Something happened to the Yates, and he went back a week ago."
Colton wanted to lash out and curse. Why was there no one he could ask for help at this critical moment?! "Send
someone reliable to my house!"
Finally, he placed Nicole into the car carefully and regarded her briefly. He swiftly noticed that she was unscathed,

With that, he hurriedly took her home while Julian called a doctor over. She was a woman in her early thirties and
had puttered over with a medical kit.
Colton carried Nicole into the house and placed her on the bed. She had remained unconscious throughout the
journey.
Then, he gave way for the doctor to provide her with a thorough check-up. After she examined Nicole, she inquired,
"Did she take sleeping pills? Can you tell me what happened to her, please?"
Colton pondered her question momentarily and answered, "It should be something in the form of a spray. She has
been unconscious ever since."
The doctor gave Nicole a preliminary diagnosis and remarked, "I think she inhaled something like ether. You need to
send her to the hospital for a detailed examination, or you can wait a day. If she wakes up, she'll be fine."
A trace of worry flashed across his face. He looked down at Nicole and nodded firmly. "Please stay here tonight. You
can check on her immediately if something happens to her."
"Of course." The doctor did not dare to refuse. After all, he was Colton, the most powerful man in the country! "I'll
be right next door. Please call me if something happens to her."
