“As long as you like the food,” Stanley said.
Xyla sat down and took a closer look at each dish. She liked all of them.
“Of course, I like them. These are all my favorite dishes. How could I not like them?” Xyla said.
Stanley did not say anything. He poured her a glass of red wine in silence.
“There’s a reunion with my high school classmates in seven days. Can you come with me?” Xyla gently
swirled the wine in the glass as she pressed onto its base with her right hand.
“Sure,” Stanley murmured.

Thomson, a well-known director, inviting her out to discuss something.
