Chapter 6 80% Natalie's heart sank as she spotted Easton the moment she landed. 'What terrible luck!' she thought to herself. She was back in town to handle something urgent on the tenth, and here he was, of all people.
She watched him approach with a cool detachment. Easton, with his tall build and natural grace, seemed just as unattainable as ever. But she wasn't the sNatalie he once knew. 'Why isn't he with Jennifer?' Natalie thought to herself, puzzled by his presence.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtEaston's eyes widened at the sight of Natalie, who had changed in his absence. For three months, she'd been a ghost, and he'd only realized how empty their hwas without her.
"Where have you been?" he asked, a hint of panic in his voice. He'd just returned from a trip and seen a figure that could only be hers. As he got closer, he confirmed it was Natalie, looking slender and more refined. Natalie met his gaze with a chill. "Mr. Garcia, our divorce is final. My comings and goings are none of your business." Easton retorted, "Natalie, the final papers haven't been filed. Legally, you're still my wife." Natalie offered a wicked smile. "You're always at Jennifer's beck and call. I've signed the papers, but you're dragging your feet. Easton, Jennifer's been plottingto get you all this time. Why haven't you made a move yet?" He defended Jennifer, "The last incident was her fault. She promised to apologize to you personally. Don't be too hard on her." Natalie was taken aback by his loyalty. "She staged everything and framed me. I was knocked out and forced to sign disownment and divorce papers. She gets to say sorry, and I'm supposed to just let it go?" Her voice rose, "Easton, you're a lost cause. Stay away from me. Your presence is such an eyesore, and I don't need you messing up my chances with someone worth my time." "Natalie, you-" Easton tried to respond, but Luna cut him off.
"Ms. Shawn," Luna called from a distance, her voice respectful, and Natalie acknowledged her with a nod. Luna, wearing sunglasses, walked over, took Natalie's luggage, and placed it in the trunk. She then opened the car door for Natalie, who didn't spare Easton a second glance as she got in.
Easton watched, stunned. Seeing Natalie, who'd grown up in an impoverished town, climb into a high-end car like that was a shock. It hit him that he knew very little about the woman he'd married for two years.
Natalie had always been obedient and loving, caring for him tirelessly during his illness. She'd learned acupuncture and nursing to help with his eyes, and she'd always been there for him, reading the news and financial reports.
He defended Jennifer because she had saved his life. But now, Natalie was back, and he assumed she'd return hon her own. Jennifer had caused scenes before, and Natalie always gave in first. This time, he'd wronged her, yet he believed she would eventually return.

Two weeks passed, and Natalie hadn't returned to apologize. Easton grew restless and asked his assistant e to locate her. In the Lance Hotel's garden, Natalie sat elegantly on a lounge chair, basking in her newfound freedom.
For the past two weeks, Natalie had been getting a grip on the power plays in Shagrity: The scandal at the Simpson residence had stayed under wraps, all thanks to Easton's pull.
It suited her just fine. The near-miss had only emboldened Jennifer, and Natalie was more than happy to sit back and watch the unfold. But not before she collected everything she had given to the Simpson and Garcia families. Her nails, adorned with rhinestones, sparkled in the sunlight as she dialed Luna. "Luna, terminate our cooperation with the Simpson and Garcia families."
