Chapter 293-Killing

Dave examined Draco's transformation and noticed that his stats surpassed those of any Imperial Saint. Additionally, Draco had developed new skills and gained significant combat experience from Ronin's rigorous training. However, Dave felt a tinge of guilt for leaving Draco in Ronin's care without his consent, so he decided to make amends by treating Draco to a meal. He chose a nearby restaurant and brought Grace along with him.

Initially, Grace was amazed by the stark difference in spiritual energy in this area, but she quickly adapted to the change. Though she currently possessed only a Golden Core Body, Dave planned to help her grow stronger in the future. He had numerous methods at his disposal to assist her in becoming more powerful.

As they leisurely strolled through the streets, Dave sensed a looming danger. He surveyed his surroundings and noticed three individuals dressed inconspicuously, but their intent to harm him was clear. To his surprise, he also detected a demonic aura emanating from them.

"Tsk, it seems they've come for revenge," Dave sneered, immediately sending a message to Grace, alerting her to prepare for a fight. Though initially shocked, Grace soon realized her own vulnerability in the face of danger.

On the other hand, Draco remained oblivious to the situation, as the enemy had disguised themselves. However, they couldn't escape Dave's heightened perception.

Suddenly, one of the assailants approached Dave, wearing a friendly smile. "Hey there, young master, you look familiar," the man greeted.

Dave smirked and replied, "Funny, I was just thinking the same about you."

The man appeared taken aback. "You know me?" he asked.

Dave nodded, an evil glint in his eye. "I know you're destined for the underworld."

Upon assessing their strength, Dave realized that they were only Low-Imperial Saints and weaker than himself. However, their composition was undoubtedly intimidating.

Dave smiled, taking the man by surprise as he seized him by the neck. "Hehe, I've missed killing," he taunted.

The man stood stunned, unable to react as Dave effortlessly sealed his cultivation and tossed him towards Grace. "Your meal has arrived," Dave remarked.

With a smile, Grace drew her sword and swiftly ended the man's life, leaving no room for hesitation. Dave gave her a thumbs-up in approval, even as the onlookers scattered in fear at the sight of a woman taking a life.

As the remaining two assassins realized their plans had been thwarted, they attempted to escape and report to their leader. However, Dave wasn't about to let them get away so easily.

"Trying to run?" Dave exclaimed, waving his hand to create a blood clone that possessed 70% of his strength—a sufficient force to apprehend the other assassin.

"Capture the other one," Dave instructed the clone before patting Grace's head. "Wait for the dessert and main course," he said, teasingly.

Grace pouted but nodded, placing her trust in Dave's power and remaining unconcerned about his safety. Dave swiftly vanished, reappearing in front of one of the fleeing assassins. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked, before landing a powerful punch that caught the assassin off guard.

Boom! The impact sent the assassin hurtling to the ground, causing some collateral damage to nearby establishments. However, Dave skillfully controlled his power, ensuring no harm came to innocent bystanders.

As Dave landed, he delved into the assassin's soul, searching for information about their employer. Despite the assassin's cries of pain, resistance was futile, and Dave ultimately discovered that the demons had targeted him due to his actions against the fourth prince and his subsequent disclosure of their plans to the royal clan.

Dave also learned that the demons had established a deep foundation within the immortal plane, with several powerful clans under their control, including three within the Illois world. These clans were composed of trusted and formidable subordinates of the emperor.

Armed with this newfound knowledge, Dave rendered the assassin unconscious, ensuring that even if he survived, he would be left crippled with a destroyed mind. He reappeared by Grace's side, tossing the assassin's lifeless body to her. "Here's the main course," he remarked.

With a smile, Grace swiftly dispatched the assassin once again. Dave observed the changes in Grace, noting the continued growth of her strength through killing. Her death aura grew stronger, reaffirming her status as a chosen individual by the death goddess.

Dave's clone returned, appearing near him. "Master, I've captured him. This one was cunning and had comprehended the law of fire, but it was futile against me," one of the clones reported.

Dave nodded, dispelling the clone and handing the captured assassin over to Grace. "You're the best," she complimented him.

Grace smiled, lacking any hesitation or remorse as she executed the assassin. She harbored no qualms about taking the lives of those who threatened her beloved.

"Grr"

Noticing Draco's hunger, Dave's demeanor shifted as if nothing had happened. Leading the way, they headed towards a nearby restaurant. The guards soon arrived, questioning Dave about the recent events, but he assured them that he would explain everything to the emperor. Recognizing Dave as an esteemed guest of the emperor with unparalleled strength, the guards nodded, acknowledging their limitations.

Dave, Draco, and Grace stepped into a bustling restaurant, their demeanor calm and composed. Unbeknownst to the other patrons, they had just dispatched an assassin, but an air of fear and unease permeated the room. No one dared to show their trepidation, afraid to anger them.

The restaurant exuded an air of sophistication and elegance. Soft, warm lighting bathed the space, casting a cozy glow over the polished wooden tables and plush chairs. The walls were adorned with tasteful artwork, adding a touch of refinement to the ambiance.

Attentive waitstaff, dressed in crisp uniforms, moved gracefully between the tables, ensuring that every guest received exceptional service. They wore friendly smiles, their professionalism and efficiency evident in their every gesture.

Seated at a spacious table, Dave scanned the extensive menu, his eyes lingering on the myriad of delectable options. His desire to make amends for leaving Draco in Ronin's care without consent prompted him to order a plethora of dishes. He wanted Draco to enjoy his heart's desire, to feast upon the array of delectable foods laid out before them.

As they waited for the food to arrive, the atmosphere in the restaurant remained tinged with a subtle undercurrent of fear. Whispers circulated among everyone, hushed conversations carried out behind cautious glances. They had seen what happened outside, so they felt fear when they were near them.

Draco, oblivious to the unease surrounding him, revealed at the moment. The aroma of tantalizing dishes filled the air, making his mouth water with anticipation. His hunger, unabated by the recent encounter, only grew stronger as he awaited the feast about to be served.

When the food finally arrived, it was a sight to behold. Platters of steaming hot delicacies, bursting with vibrant colors and aromatic spices, were placed before them. The symphony of flavors wafted through the air, enticing their senses, and beckoning them to partake.

Draco's eyes widened with delight at the sight of the bountiful spread. He wasted no time, eagerly digging into the dishes, relishing each bite with gusto. His appetite seemed insatiable as he indulged in the culinary delights, savoring every mouthful.

Dave watched Draco with a sense of satisfaction, his heart filled with a mix of guilt and joy. Guilt for leaving Draco in Ronin's care without his consent, but joy in witnessing Draco's unrestrained enjoyment of the feast laid before him. It was a small gesture, a way to make amends and strengthen the bond between them.

Within the restaurant, the patrons dared not make direct eye contact with the trio, their gazes respectfully averted. Whispers continued to circulate, but they were whispered with a sense of awe and respect, mingled with an undercurrent of fear.

The waitstaff, ever diligent, ensured that each dish was replenished promptly, attending to their needs with practiced efficiency. Despite the unspoken tension in the air, their service remained impeccable, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to excellence.
