She squeezed a word through her teeth and choked back the rest of her sentence.
Her feeble voice went unheard as Rose coaxed them to try her cooking.
"I've made both of your favorite fish dishes today. Come and taste it!"
Linda took a deep breath and thought to herself. Forget it. I'll hold on first and talk to them after dinner.
Norman was excited, "Really? Let me taste it."
Linda didn't have the appetite, but she couldn't bear to let her parents go hungry, so she forced herself to eat
together.

Rose was somewhat nervous. Today was her daughter's first day at work. Could she have discovered something or
heard about it from someone?

Linda snorted coldly. Due to pent-up emotions, her voice grew sharper and louder, "Why are you still trying to lie to
me?! We have sold all of our properties. Even our current house is leased. Do you really think that I'm clueless
about it?!"
Rose was stunned.
Norman instantly roared, "Nonsense! Who told you these things? They are all lies!!"
"You didn't sell off our properties?" Linda didn't believe Norman and stared at him coldly, waiting for him to continue
speaking. Norman shouted, "Of course!!"

of this house myself!"
She did not believe a word her parents said. Norman coaxed and soothed her, "You don't trust us? Why do you
need to see the records? We are family. No? Plus. Even if I did sell off our properties, it must be out of a profitable
investment. Our company hasn't had any investment projects recently. How could I have sold them?"
Linda almost believed what her parents said.
But she remembered the conversation with Elisa over the phone. It definitely wasn't baseless because Elisa
wouldn't lie.
Elisa knew that through her interrogation, her parents would give in and show her the records. It was just a small
argument and wouldn't cause any damage.
If that was the case, what Elisa said was meaningless. After all, they were a family, and such divisive behavior was
futile unless what Elisa said was true!
