Linda was smart. Sometimes, she could tell something wasn’t right with one glance.
Rose was most afraid of how intelligent her daughter was. She could only keep her expression neutral and say
calmly, “We’re just cleaning. I don’t like the layout, so I want to mix things up. The house has to be aired after
renovation, which will take a few months at the very least. Let’s just stay here for now.”
Linda immediately furrowed her brows tightly. “The house is completely new, and you used to like the design. Why
are you changing things?”
She stared at Rose and still felt that something wasn’t right.
But Rose said in a dazed manner, “It’s all because of your dad’s assistant! The contractor he found tricked us and
used cheap materials. It hasn’t been long, but the walls at home have started to crack.”

But she couldn’t put her finger on it. It was mainly because she couldn’t think of why they had to stay here.
She paused before she said, “But even if we have to stay elsewhere, we can go to a better place! How are we going
to stay in such a small place?”
Rose took a breath in. She wanted to, but they didn’t have the money! That wench Elisa had tricked them out of
everything.
But Rose didn’t dare say such things to her daughter.
Linda opened her mouth and clearly wanted to say something else, but she was interrupted by her cell phone
ringing.
Upon seeing that it was the anonymous call from before, she was suddenly excited. “That person is calling me. She
must have made her move against Elisa!”
Rose breathed a sigh of relief. She was thankful that the call distracted Linda.
“Hello.”
The other party’s voice rang in her ear when Linda answered the call.
“Gareth and Elisa are going for an inspection tomorrow. They’re at Phoenix Bridge, which is a bad area.”
Linda wrinkled her brows. She thought that she would get good news, but that was all. She asked, “Do you mean
that you’re only going to make a move tomorrow?”
“Mm.”
Linda was slightly displeased, but the other party’s word was law. What could she do? She felt that the person
wanted to end the call, so she immediately said, “Can you give me a way to contact you? You’re always the one
who’s looking for me, and I can’t get ahold of you.”

voice, but it was eerily cold.

The other party paused for a moment before saying indifferently, “I will send you a way of contacting me.”
Linda was relieved. “Alright. How do you plan on dealing with Elisa?”
“You’ll find out tomorrow.”
After that, the other party ended the call, and Linda’s expression immediately turned nasty. “Why is she being so
secretive? She’s still hiding her identity from me and doesn’t want to tell me the truth!”
“You previously felt that she’s competent and helpful.” Rose mocked her without hesitation.
Linda bit her lips and retorted in an annoyed manner. “Was I wrong back then? Isn’t she capable? Otherwise, could
I have left the hospital so quickly? I just don’t like her air of superiority!”
